    Oh wow are we lucky.
    What happened
Kane pulled up with a hamstring. Barnsley work it down the right and play and inswinger to the back post. Free header at the back post hits the bar.
  • Even more frustrating given how well Kane has played!!

Straight down the tunnel, O'Connell on in his place.

Should make the back line interesting. I suspect there'll be a proper plan and structure for the second half given there are only seconds left of the first.
  • Honestly we are cursed.

It’s always the same sort of position we get these bulk of injuries in.

And Terry, Egbo played on a little bit and walked off and we know how that went.
  • Their number 5 is a prick
  • O’Connell on and we’ve gone 3-5-2 to match up on Barnsley’s formation
I don’t necessarily feel that that formation change is a bad thing, because we are so open - it’s just we don’t have the right players for it.
  • Having O'Connell on may help tighten us up at the back...

Campbell @ LWB though is an opportunity for Barnsley to target us second half though
  • HT 1-0

Leaburn is gonna kick the shit out of someone 2nd half isnt he?

Well done from Holden, just to walk with him for a moment
  • How have we not conceded?. Could.easily be 1.3 down at HT
  • I like that Holden had a word with Miles as they were heading off the pitch. Put his arm around him. They've clearly set out to wind Miles up. And so far it's worked pretty well.

How many injured full backs does one club want? Egbo, Sess now Kane
  • He's trained all season. Another list of injuries at the Valley alongside Egbo, O'Connell, Leaburn.
  • Leaburn is gonna kick the shit out of someone 2nd half isnt he?
Hope so. Would like to see a more edgy side of him. Use his size more
  • Not that I give a shit but Barnsley will be wondering how they're losing at half time. Midfield really hasn't got a grip with Dobbo having a rare off day. Hoping we improve 2nd half
  • How many injured full backs does one club want? Egbo, Sess now Kane
Add the likes of Wiggins | Solly | Youga | Gibbs | Poole in the past as well

The three you mention are in decent company

Don’t mind the shape change. Not sure Holden would’ve done it otherwise, but we needed to change something proactively because Barnsley have had much the better of it despite us leading.

One free header missed and the bar struck twice by them, as well as other  dangerous balls into our box and some good saves from AMB. They should have scored at least a couple.

Campbell has a big job on at left wing back now. It didn’t go well last time he played there.
  • Playing with 10 men having JRS out there! Completely anonymous…

shame kane went off, but hopefully the lad from Blackburn is coming in soon! Avoid chin at all costs!

We’ve sat back a little, ref made a few odd calls but we’re winning ugly and that’s all we need to do.

Bonne for JRS second half and go at them

  • To lose two full backs in the space of an hour is somewhat careless.
  • Lucky to get in at 1-0. But unlucky that we've lost our two best fullbacks to injury in the last feckin hour.

Great goal from Campbell, but he's still very raw, and it seems like one in three touches is productive. I wouldn't be surprised if he's sacrificed at halftime for a tactical switch to maybe bring on CBT who has played LWB.

I know that Payne and Fraser playing together isn't ideal, but it should be noted that they combine to win the ball; back at the halfway line, and then Payne plays in Campbell for the goal.

These are the kind of games we'd be losing 1-2 earlier this season.

Ali Maxwell remains unbeaten in how excellent his punditry is.

    Jeez.

Thought we were second best to be honest. Losing the midfield battle, and so open in the final third because of it.

Was going to suggest either taking Payne off for Morgan if we wanted to stick 4-3-3, or bring on O’Connell for Campbell and stick JRE up top and go 3-5-2.

Been forced into the latter because we get no luck as a club with injuries.

At least we have a lead to defend, which is going to be some effort second half.
  • Didn't take long for Kane to be Charltonised.

Lucky HT lead, and with Campbell at left wing back, we'll be even more vulnerable down the left
  • Typical bully team, pushing and shoving but breathe on them and they claim blue murder. Leaburn needs to be careful as he's being closely watched and getting fouled every time. One reaction and this ref will brandish red I think.

Good battling half despite that. Lucky to not be losing as they are quite good!

If we don't run out of steam we have a chance but a reverse golfie looks on the cards to me sadly..

    COYA!
  • It would be helpful to have the specialist left back in,🤞🤞 with some decent cover that will ensure that players can be eased in / back. Hopefully, with sufficient cover, this will help avoid all these injuries we seem to pick up🤞🤞
  • I had to throw my phone away from me when I saw Kane get injured. So frustrating. As he walked off he looked to have had a lump on his hamstring, potential hamstring strain, could be a few days, couple of weeks, couple of months depending on the severity.
  • We were second best first half, we need to see a bit more after half time.
  • Enjoyable enough first half. But we are riding our luck a bit and fortunate to be in front.

Kane had a good debut. So blooming typical that he got injured.

    And Ness impressing once again.
