  • Bolton have had the better chances and a terrible ref decesion in their favour but we haven't been completely out of it.

Need to get a level though as don't see us coming back from 2 down.

Few errors here and there which is helping the refs shiteness.
  • Wether he is one of our own or not...Morgan is terrible. Can't pass, can't tackle and offers no goals.

Bin him off ASAP. Terrible, Terrible footballer.
Massively OTT. He's not been outstanding today, but I've seen plenty of tackles and passes. His cross to Rak-Sakyi led to our best chance

Their young lad Morley is exactly the player sections of fanbase thinks Albie is. Morley is streets ahead I’m afraid.
Country mile ahead I'd say. Morgan couldn't hit a free kick like his if he had 10 attempts.

    Proper donkey.

I mean you can point to a pass here and there but he's never going to be good enough to have us at the higher end of the table.

Morgan is the sort of player we need to learn to move on from.
  • They look more dangerous near goal, our passing not good enough. Dobson is the best for us, I will not judge Penny on one game. Saky doing his best to create something. Need Leaburn on, but nothing happening in midfield. Let us hope better second half 👍

Morley looks a very talented player , think they got him from Rochdale for a very low fee. Would still like a CM before the window closes.
  • Props to Holden who at least has us competing against these sides - big change from a month or two ago. Feels disheartening to take that as a positive in League One…
Under Garner we beat Derby, lost late to Wednesday after missing an open goal and thumped Plymouth?

If you can name a game where he has made a massive difference, I'll take it back.

Rak Sakyi made the best chance by beating the players...the pass, whoever it is from, should be the standard.

Take off the rose tinted glasses...hes shit.
  • Reality is if you stack the two starting XIs against each other, the only player you’d say gets into the Bolton team is the kid on loan from Surrey.

  • @ForeverAddickted @SELR_addicks Can you cut out the tedious bickering in the second half? Ta.

You're on one aren't you! Not Dobson or Fraser?
  • Ness and Innis are having a mare.  Both are too slow to deal with Bolton’s pace.  Ness has been incredibly sloppy on the ball for a few games now.  Hopefully O’Connell can get fit soon as his calmness/experience is needed.  JRS and CBT has been giving their fullbacks fits and have been the bright spot.  Bonne has held the ball up well but can seem to find space in the box when the wingers have put crosses in
  • We need a change of dynamics and Bonne may need Leaburn alongside him and not to replace him. Will he go 3-5-2 or will he just change personnel?

Problems to solve for Holden at HT as Bolton nearly emulated their goal total from last season in the first half.

We need to dig very deep.

Those were all in August where I agree there were some of our better performances.

In November and December we were losing to Port Vale, Stockport and Cheltenham. That’s the team Holden had to turn around and he’s doing a good job of it.

Why would they get into Bolton's midfield?

Inniss has done okay. He's been isolated quite a lot because he's playing on Clare's side, and Clare is having a mare
  • Problem is we’ve been chasing the game and committing players since the 4th minute,
and a team as good as Bolton going forwards are always going to find pockets of space to exploit.

Im more than happy to be critical of our defence, but I feel sorry for them today as they’re not necessarily going to be getting the cover they normally would.

It is probably by design to be effective on the counter, but I can’t barely remember a time CBT has been back in our third doubling up on their players with Penney. It’s just so easy for them at the moment to drag us sideways and back in again, especially with how well they move the ball.
  • Sky are really whacking the ads in here, aren't they?

Bench players for Bolton IMO… potentially an argument that Dobson is better than Dempsey if you need someone who flies into tackles but Dempsey is far better in Bolton’s possession system.

  • Declan John coming on for Bolton... Be curious to see him, given he's been mentioned by some on the Transfer Window threads in the past
  • We need to find a balance between pressing their defence high and not getting caught out in transition. Dobson can't do it all so Albie needs to offer more. CBT looked dangerous at first but after a few sprints where he wasted the ball he seems to have switched off in both an attacking and defensive sense. Clare looks fairly stuck between the phases as usual, you can really see why Holden wanted Kane in. Bonne has battled really hard but we've not created any opportunities to play him in. Conceding early has meant there haven't been gaps for the whole game in the same way though, so we'll if we can get an early goal and change that. There's definitely mistakes in this Bolton defence in the press, we need to exploit that and try to catch them cold from the start. We'll get nothing off this ref so we've got to get some control ourselves. Mostly it would be great if we brought another midfielder in before the window closes to play alongside Dobbo and Fraser

Don’t think there’s ever been a genuine link? Just one poster in particular that I can remember @Richard J that likes to suggest him.
  • Back out for the second half.
