It’s funny, but people have been saying all year that Man City will power through in the second half of the season to the title, but they really don’t look as good as last year. They may have dispatched the stripy pricks reasonably comfortably today, but they’ve looked dodgy a few times and let in two goals.
If anyone, it looks like Liverpool are the team who will just keep winning.
Haha! Who’s this know-nothing idiot?
Two defeats and a draw for Liverpool since this comment.
It must feel absolutely exhilarating for Unai Emery, to be treated so poorly by Arsenal fans, to then come back and send them packing in a Europa league semi-final with Villarreal, earning his way back to a big Premier league gig and seemingly, having their number again.
Terrible day for the title race. Turning the Premier League into one of those one dominant team leagues.
It's looking that way until Pep decides to leave.
Pretty ominous that City were without Haaland for 6 weeks, without De Bruyne until January, Stones has either been an unused sub or injured for 17 league games, Grealish the same for 15 games, Walker has missed the last month, and the end result is that they're probably now going to win the league again.
Still don't understand why City sold him. I get he wouldn't have played much but he's only 21, so why not just loan him for a year. Not like City really needed the money they got for him either.

How big are the egos of those Chelsea players arguing about who is going to take this penalty?
Pathetic.
Palmer is the taker. He's scored every one he's taken this season, and the last player to take one off him (Sterling) missed.
Why on earth do they think they should take it off him? Because he's so good he's already got a hat-trick and they need a pity goal? Play better yourself and get a normal goal.
Palmer wanted more game time at City. Pep told him that he would be getting more but couldn't guarantee him how much. Pep doesn't give that to anyone. Palmer wanted to go out on loan but Pep told him that he either stays or goes.
So why did Pep insist on that? Because that is what he does with his very best young players. He's done it with Foden, with Lewis, with Bobb. Not one of those has ever been out on loan because Pep wants them to learn his way and them to be in and around the likes of KDB, Rodri, Bernardo etc etc so that eventually they seamlessly become a regular starter in the first team. All of that said, Chelsea offered top price of £40m for a 21 year old with 19 PL appearances to his name and it also helped with their FFP given that Doku was incoming (who offers something different to Foden, Grealish and Palmer).
Has Pep made a mistake? Probably in the long term in respect of that specific player but he's not going to sacrifice the way he does things for one individual. Is it going to mean the difference between Pep winning and not winning trophies. Absolutely not. For England it's a fantastic move because he's always going to start, as long as his form doesn't dessert him, at Chelsea whereas he would have had far more competition to do so at City and potentially from two or three other England players. So what's not to like?
In 2014 Chelsea sold KDB to Wolfsburg for £18m. A profit of £11m on what Chelsea paid for him. A year later City signed him for £55m and he has become one of the greatest PL players of all time. Here's hoping Pep's made the same wrong decision that Mourinho did.
If you have got a penalty taker you have got a penalty taker.
Poch should have subbed the other two off
It's very poor and childish from the players but ultimately some of the blame i think lies with Pochettino. Why didn't he come out after the Sterling miss a couple of weeks ago and say Palmer is the penalty taker? Clearly nothing was said behind the scenes after that incident or we wouldn't have had last nights one.
On a side note though, Chelsea could now finish 6th, made one cup final and could potentially (although doubtful) reach another. After all the problems they've had that's not actually a bad season in what is obviously a transitional season.
"This is them showing their age. I'm not there at the training ground every day, but as far as I'm aware in their last big game, in the last minute when the pressure was on I didn't see them all fighting to take it then," he said.
"It's alright when it's 4-0 and you all want to get on the scoresheet."

Poch said they all know Palmer is the penalty taker

he's spot on, didn't see them fighting to take the one against United
There is such an irony that Arsenal released the very player, at the age of just nine, that would have been the difference between them winning and not winning the PL this season.

The annoying thing is we would have been in the mix had we not sold him...

I thought Paul Merson was going to cry on Sky on more than one occasion. Absolutely hilarious.
Edit: Kelly Cates making a reference to "Dumb and Dumber" as Merson babbles on again ..... ;-)
(You’re all welcome, by the way.) 😂

fuck em, good luck city
Edit: I may have just jinxed him, how's he not just scored there
Edit: Never mind... 17mins gone, and he should already be on a bloody hat-trick
And ironically he EASILY should have four goals within that period
Kane.
Palmer, Bellingham, Foden.
Mainoo, Rice.
That’s top tier

Wonder what odds you could have got on Cole Palmer getting the Golden Boot.
