  • You'd never assume you'd  go to Old Trafford and win, so before the game Liverpool would have probably accepted a point. But not after having so many chances.

I hadn't realised Arsenal's GD was so much better than the other two clubs. That could make a difference.
They've only conceded 4 in their last 11 games which helps.
  • Anyone but Arsenal cunteta and the cuntettes ffs

let the title disappear up north
yes the scallies have fans down here but nowhere near as many as those gooney cnuts
  • Big Sam in the Old Trafford directors box...

  • This title race is going to be crazy.

1 point separating 3 teams with 7 games left.
I’m not sure it will be in the end - reckon City will have it wrapped up before the final weekend.

    bloody well hope so.

I'd stomach the dippers winning it if I had to.

Phillips is having such a nightmare at West Ham, definitely seems to have played his way out of contention for the Euros.
Nowhere near as good as everyone makes him out to be

Football is still a team game and Phillips and Rice had a good partnership.
Lovely contract at Man city but Phillips has lost his edge and too many midfielders in front of him now and by not playing enough he is now just an ex International.

I'm not quite sure what type of player Pep wanted too turn Phillips into ?
But Pep makes every player better right?
  • I tip Arsenal to win all their remaining games, if Saliba remains fit.
  • City are lucky to not have any tough league games around the 2 Real Madrid matches. Home to Luton in between, then Chelsea in the FA Cup afterwards.
  • Another two point deduction for Everton.

  • Honestly think scrapping FFP might be a good idea. Whole thing is a joke if City are exempt.
  • Another two point deduction for Everton.

Whether it is right or wrong that Everton have had all these sanctions and others seemingly have got away with it, no one can take away their achievement in having points deducted for spending hundreds of millions on one big pile of rubbish.
  • Baffling how Everton keep failing these rules, and not certain Big 6 clubs.

Forest also spent money like a drunken sailor when they went up. What ever happened to Andy Scott?
  • anyone but f**king Arsenal, I'll have to quit my job I reckon if they win it

i'm actually getting a bit nervous about it now but City are City and will probably comfortably win it

YOU'RE a bit nervous about it?
Haha, good job you're not me then.

Roll on the NLD in 3 Sundays time.  Biggest NLD in years given whats at stake now.  We've got one bloody job to do, forget top 4, its about stopping them b*stards winning the league.

Hopefully H does his part of the bargain in the CL.

(Got to say though, they've been bloody brilliant since the start of the year.  If they do go on and win it, no one can say they don't deserve it!)

Arsenal are playing well but have fewer points, from more games than they had on this day in 2023
  • I'm sure now it's going viral they will rectify it but this is terrible from the Nigels.

I don't see much wrong there.  Tickets, points etc have surely always been non-transferrable through any reason at all clubs.

Maybe they could have honoured the early bird price in the circumstances but expecting points to transfer over to someone else when you die is definitely pushing your luck!
  • 2 clean sheets in 23 league games for Spurs. Ange either has to look at the players he has or the system he's playing. He can't keep doing the same thing every single game with no plan B and expecting not to get found out. Baffles me why he doesn't play things a bit tighter in some games.

If you look on social media it seems his mantra of 'it's who we are mate' is starting to grate on some Spurs fans.

I would lile to think that was a bit of a freak result yesterday, normally vdV would have mopped the first two chances up, you cant legislate for slips like that but the dangers are there for everyone to see.

With the full backs pushing on all the time, it leaves us horribly exposed at the back.  As soon as the opposition play out of our high press, they just ping it wide and they've literally got a free run on goal.

Start of the season, the system worked brilliantly but since, teams have got to grips with it now and they know how to exploit it.  Says it all Newcastle had 25% possession.

To be perfectly honest, I'd written this season off and would have taken 8th or 9th just to get the house in order so we're well ahead of that.  We're going to have blips but I still love watching us pour forward with 'wreckless abandon' after the turgid dross Mourinho and Conte served us up.

And lets not forget Ange has had two windows to make changes.  Arteta has been in charge for 5/6 seasons now and has spent £600m in the process...Ange needs time.

So I'm not hitting the panic button but others have wet the bed after reading through some message boards this morning.

[Edit: 3 points I meant to add...

    1) Sonny is bang out of form.  Teams using a low block take his pace out of the game.  He has been bang average since coming back from the Asia Cup.

    2) Maddison is a million miles from the form he showed at the start of the season... which leads onto

    3) I think Ange really doesnt know what his best midfield 3 is at the moment.  It seems to be Maddison + 2.  Bissouma started the season excellent but he has been poor since the red card at Luton.  Bentancur clearly isnt 100% after his ACL and they are trying to manage Sarr as he has been carrying a knock since before the ANC.  Meanwhile Hojbjerg (who wants to go and Ange doesnt fancy him) seems to make a difference when he comes on. Throw in Lo Celso again who's fit, I just dont think he knows what to do.

FWIW, I know Sarr has been struggling of late but we look so much better for his energy in the side, so then its who you play with him and Maddison.  I'd go Bentancur if he was fit...

Anyway, next game, the NLD in either 13/14 days depending on Arsena's progress in the CL]
  • Yeah twitter is full of Spurs fans having a meltdown, even seen some saying he's got to go, which is absolutely crazy. What exactly did they expect from this season after finishing 8th last year and losing Kane? Plus if Villa lose by 2 goals today you are 4th with a game in hand although your next 3 games are all very tough.

That said though Ange does need to rethink his plans and tactics for some games because this isn't the SPL, and Spurs are never going to progress to being in with a chance of winning something if when plan A isn't working his plan B is just to continue with plan A.
  • 4-0 at Newcastle and 0-4 at Villa

Spurs are brilliantly inconsistent and the way they play really makes for some good games to watch as a neutral.

It was bound to end in tears. These things usually do.

Spurs up to yesterday have over achieved this season with out Kane; yes I know it means other players step up but it's bollocks to think they don't miss him.

I'm baffled with Ange Postecoglu tactics yesterday ?
Why against 3 fast forwards in Gordon, Barnes and Isak, would you play with such a high line and while attacking your opponents box have no defenders in your own half?  Isak couldn't be off side yesterday for the 3rd as he was just in his own half when the pass was played and the highly rated Van de Ven (played like Bambi on ice !) couldn't catch the flying Isak who finished with aplomb.

Ange Postecoglu has had a good season and the players quite rightly rate him but  defending with a high line is risky when losing the ball in transition against the fast forwards of Newcastle.
