  • Great performance by Arsenal, and they would have won the league if Saliba had been fit at the end of the season last year

I actually enjoyed the city arsenal game. Two heavyweights going head to head, it was never gonna be 4-4 tbh! Funny to see Pep getting rattled at the end too. Saliba, Gabriel and Rice were excellent for arsenal I thought. Plenty of games to go, but that's a massive point for arsenal and maybe psychological blow for city?

Edit. Haaland losing his cool on multiple occasions too was interesting, which resulted in that air shot in the 6 yard box! Maybe the key to stopping him is to trash talk and give him a few digs? He was not happy, but Gabriel done a number on him this afternoon.

This first half of Man City v Arsenal has been boring as fuck.
Been a dull match. Top of the table clashes used to be exciting
Liverpool v City just a few weeks ago was a brilliant match.
  • Forest 3-0 up over Fulham at HT is a massive shock. With Burnley winning, and Everton losing, a bad night so far for Everton and Luton
  • Marco Silva not messing around.
    Triple substitution on 33 minutes.
  • Fulham pull one back early in second half...

Everton further points penalty expected to be announced next week and likely 3-4 points.
At 4 they are level in points with Luton and not won for 13 games.  They are looking like they may need a miracle or a big new manager bounce... Dyche at risk?

Paul Dummett, with four PL minutes in over two years, comes on as sub and gives away a needless penalty away, enabling Everton to equalize. He's only on the bench because all of Newcastle's other defenders (Botman, Trippier, Hall, Lascelles, Livramento and Targett) are all injured.

Bournemouth go 1-0 up with 10 minutes plus added left.
  • Valuable point for Everton

  • Well hope you all gave West Ham v Spurs a miss, absolutely dire to watch.

Don't worry, we did. We were all tuned in to the Portsmouth/Derby game.

It was a classic. You should have watched!

Surely not, how can his job be at risk for something that is not his fault? Not down to him they've been terribly financially mismanaged.

If deducted another 4 points (which will make 10 in total), then yes they would be in relegation trouble on 22 points. But without that they'd be comfortably safe on 32 points as the bottom 3 probably won't even reach that.

I think they'll be ok though, they still have home games left v Burnley, Forest and Sheff Utd.
  • Maybe if Dyche played better football and won more games they could be sitting safely in mid table, Wigan in our division deducted 8 points but looking comfortably free of any relegation worries.

I confess to a bit of a soft spot for Everton. I used to be taken once or twice a season for a number of years by a lifelong Evertonian mate who had hospitality season tickets that he used for business and to connect with his son when he was home from university abroad. I used to reciprocate by bringing him down the Valley for a fish supper and a pint and, bless him, he always seems to enjoy it.  A proper group of traditional fans at Everton and Goodison when it is bouncing is a sight to behold. My friend is dead now so I haven’t been for about a decade. My years of going were the late Moyes and Martinez eras.  It’s fair to say that things have fallen apart a bit since then and I feel for them, albeit partly of their own making. If they’ve broken the rules they deserve what’s coming to them but I simply fail to see what the likes of Everton and Forest can have done that the Citehs and Chelsea’s of this world haven’t. As for this season, Dyche has done well with the cards he holds, a bit like Nathan J but they are a very hard watch and one dimensional. They will escape relegation (pending points reductions) simply because the bottom three couldn’t  run a bath between them but surely they cannot go on dodging the bullet season after season?  That new stadium looks to be a gem but it is in serious danger of becoming the best ground in the Championship if things don’t change. The projected new ownership (if that story is still true) seems like a bundle of laughs as well!

He's won more games (8) than any of the other bottom 7 sides and they would be safe without the deductions.

He also has to sell before he can buy, they've made a profit on transfers the last 2 seasons.

That's fair enough but they haven't won a league game since 10 December surely you could blame Dyche for that.

We hadn't won in ages and the blame was entirely down to Appleton.

Fair point and yes of course he is responsible for results, but my main point was that it'd be harsh to sack him if they get drawn into a relegation battle simply because they've been deducted 10 points.

Everton ultimately have no money and a pretty shit team, so the owners can't expect miracles.
  • Sheffield United equalising at Liverpool wasn't in the script

I get the feeling that Salah didn't think him being "hooked" after 59 minutes was either!

Chelsea in the first 30mins have looked really good for once.

    38mins played... Yeaaa forget that!!
  • Wilder took all their forwards off and expected to hang on for 30 mins
  • Mac Allister goes from Brighton to Liverpool and steps up a level.
Caicedo and Cucurella go to Chelsea and look way overpriced.
  • That's a brilliant ball from Antony.
  • What a crazy finish.

  • Incredible finish
  • Wow, what a finish.
    Just look at Poch's face!

Crazy game by the sounds of it.

Good signs for England, Palmer and Foden hattricks in two nights.
  • Proper banter-era stuff from United that.
