The criteria I used (94 different countries/Islands) is different from the criteria that of Thai Malaysia Addick. For example, I have been to 6 different Islands in the Maldives and 6 different Islands in The Bahamas and counted them as such. But equally, I haven't been silly and counted Alcatraz as a separate Island, although technically it can be seen as such.
So to use Thai Malaysia Addick's list, simply for comparision purposes, I have been to 58 of those countries listed.
I think his list are independent countries I wouldn't worry about it to much (for example I've been to Martinique and Guadaloupe which are just departments of France), that's a big drop from 94 to 58 though. Don't think I've seen Dominica mentioned stopped of there on the way from Guadaloupe to Martinique for 5-6 days.

Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Barbados, Belgium, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cabo Verde, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Czechia (Czech Republic), Denmark, Dominica, Dominican Republic, France, Gambia, Germany, Greece, Holy See, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Monaco, Montenegro, Morocco, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Oman, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Tunisia, United Kingdom, United States of America, Uruguay, Vietnam.
Went to Hong Kong when it was British, am I aloud to say I've been to China LOL.
went to Yugoslavia when i was younger. counts for several countries now. plus i went to the USSR, a few more countries. Italy, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and France on top of that.
worst drivers that i have in-counted is the french. they have a moron level of plus 20. throw their doors open whilst someone is driving passed, plus they don't eve know who's right of way it is, no help for the rest of us. Fuck wits.
I thought it would be more as it feels like I’m travelling a lot - but a lot of it is for work to the same batch of countries - just different cities/states.
Have been to the USA 20+ times in the last 10 years, and Ireland over 30 times.
Done a fair few of those. (Including Venezuela on a day-trip lol). But a question - I drove through Yugoslavia to get to Greece many years ago can I convert all the places en route into their "new" country names?
I'm working on visiting all 50 US states (and DC) - at the moment I am missing just Alaska, Vermont, Delaware and Connecticut.
Done the same re Yugoslavia, Italy down to Athens and back up via Belgrade to Austria....I'd say you can 'convert'.....I do anyway.
I did my road trip with 5 friends in 1970 in a previously written off and repaired Bedford CA 12cwt van with the side panels cut out and replaced with perspex. lol. The van was great fun - sliding doors which you could hold open with a leather strap - no seat belts of course.
The Yugoslavia "motorways" - the auto-puts - were something else basically cobbled streets with loads of donkeys pulling over-loaded carts.

1988 in an old ford custom camper (1974 but with a re-con engine that had done just 25,000 miles when we got it)......road down the Dalmatian coast was awful after it rained (very slippery).

Did anyone else read this and think "typical referee"?
Why make up your own criteria? It's a fairly straightforward exercise. Why would you count Islands within the same country when the exercise is to see who has been to different countries? Alcatraz ffs?!
Proper odd.
I have a bit of sympathy with the ref's view.
England, N. Ireland, Scotland and Wales are indisputably countries in their own right.
I've been to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al-Khaimar, three separate states but all captured under UAE.
That said I think its right to draw the line at Islands.
I could get my country count up massively with The Azores, The Balearic Islands (all), The Canary Islands (all), British Virgin Islands, American Virgin Islands.
Been to Australia, Botswana, Chile, Cook Islands*, Ecuador, Fiji, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Morocco, Namibia, NZ, South Africa, Tahiti*, Tajikistan, Thailand, USA, Uzbekistan outside of Europe, those starred are not recognised as countries as they are administered by NZ and France respectively.
In Europe, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, San Marino, Spain, Sweden so nothing unusual.
Interesting thread. In awe of of the travel and adventure some of you have experienced. Excluding some one day stops as a kid I don’t remember, 13 for me …

I'm at a loose end waiting for the tennis so thought I'd go through the thread. I may have missed some mentions but looks like there are surprisingly still more than 60 countries noone has claimed, mostly African and island nations
