    I've seen Angola from the other side of the Okavango River in Namibia but not set foot.

    I've been in the spectator stand at the Panama canal. It was as dull as I imagined it would be but I felt like I had to do it.

    I would say no, too. I only count a country if I have set foot on land outside of the airport. 

    On another note, and I don't think anyone has been doing this here, I don't count ex-countries such as East Germany or Czechoslovkia; I go off the current United Nations list of 195 'countries'.

    As a £10 Pom I can add Curacao and Tahiti to the list having stayed en route to NZ in 1962 via the Panama Canal.  Also stayed in Panama City.

    60. I did a really good tour of Central America a few years ago which "ticked off" 5 countries, many of which are a bit dodgy...
    I gather you need your wits about you in Venezuela.

     Yes one of those things I wished I'd done....we did go to Montevideo for 5-6 days though and liked it, nice trip from BA.

    I have only done 15, I think, but JJ, my dog, has just done his seventh in two years which might be decent for a dog and is probably about average for a British person. Can any dog's beat that?
