Good luck Zach - please remember us to Fraser and AC if you get the opportunity.

A slightly surprising loan move. Scotland, and playing for the bottom side in the Premiership, so a tough, and I imagine, pretty negative atmosphere too.
  • Says a lot about the Scottish Prem when a club is loaning a defender who can't make the matchday squad for a mid table 3rd division team.

Having said that I really rate Zach and should be good experience for him playing in a physical league, he certainly has the technical ability to make it at a decent level, hopefully he improves his reading of the game and decision making and he will be some player.

Interesting move.  Maybe we'll send scouts to watch him plus someone else in their team.  If they do get relegated there are a couple of players in their squad who are not bad

Who are their stand out players?

Little surprising. I think it’s probably good that he (should) be getting first team minutes, but maybe leaves us even lighter on midfield cover, and St Johnstone seems and odd choice of destination. Maybe there’s something deliberate in that as well, though. Good luck Zach.

Not necessarily standout players but a fair amount of potential.  Makenzie Kirk would be my first choice.  Young striker with an eye for goal.  Not a bad place to start.  If they get relegated I'd expect him to be on the move.  Not an out-and-out striker/target man but good as one of two up top

Taylor Steven - another young forward (more of a winger).  Got an eye for goal.  Stocky little pitbull of a striker

Only just turned 20 but really needs more first team games.

Imagine Perth FC have to do a lot of defending so it will be good experience for him.

I think he has the potential to have a good career at a decent level.

He needs a run of first team games, I reckon he will be a good player hopefully for us in the near future.

As much as Zac needs games, this really does leave us short of cover so unless someone is coming in today, this is very surprising

Can understand Scotland. Will only be getting warmer from March onwards

Was wondering this myself, if we were sending him up there not just to scout other St. Johnstone players, but others that he might come up against

Taylor Steven sounds a wrongun though... His name is the wrong way round!!
  • Does the season end in April up there ?

    What does this mean?

Doesnt their League table do a weird split and the last fixtures arent announced until they know who are in the top six, and bottom six?

Yep, it’s actually been a pretty good innovation (although you end up with the weird situation of the team in 7th finishing with more points than the team in 6th at the end of the season!).

Good move for him, could be a bit of a slog though as St Johnstone have been awful most of the season.

Nothing on our site or the StJohnstone site, nor the BBC. They have brought a bit part midfield from Palace on loan.

O’Rourke said set to sign & Cawley said agreed to sign.
No one has said he has signed.

Sounds rather threatening. I can see crunching tackles leaving them writhing on the ground in agony and Zach saying “Charlton Life says hello“.
  • Would we be able to recall him mid season if needed?

Came on in the 46th minute for St Johnstone away at Kilmarnock yesterday, attendance 5,479, however St Johnstone lost 3-1.
