Cawley confirming Hibs hoping it’ll go through.

At 20 he’s far too young to write off. Even more so as a CB.

He signed a new deal with us less than a year ago, so the club rate him enough to keep him here.
Hope he does well, not just because it's good for him and us, but also as I like Hibs.

A good move in my opinion.
From what Little I've seen of him he needs another season hopefully playing regularly to see if he can improve enough to come back and claim a place in our squad.
Not quite good enough at the moment but in a years time who knows.

    Could be playing in Europe.

Good luck to him at a top club.

Does the Scottish window close later than England's or was there a delay?

Zach desperately needed this loan if he can toughen up a bit more and build some strength gives himself a chance of breaking through next season at RCB if we do unfortunately lose Ramsay

Baffled as that leaves us quite short at the back?
I think Bree will cover Ramsay’s role, he’s done it before and it needs someone who’s comfortable playing RB rather than a pure CB.

Edinburgh is a great city.....good club as well...go smash it Zach
  •  Really pleased to read this !

Playing at a decent Scottish club sounds ideal for Zach.

Regular football at a good level is exactly what he needs this season. Another opportunity to make himself a favourite as at St Johnstone.

Looking forward to welcoming him back home next summer, ready to be a real candidate for a regular place in our first team squad.

    Go get 'em, Zach !

Yes, the Scottish window closes 4 hours later than England’s.

    With this finalised it's:

    Ramsay, Bree
    Jones, Burke
    Bell, Gillesphey

For the back 3, and probably:

    Apter, Ramsay/TC/JRC/Bree for RWB and
Edwards, Bell, Bree/TC/Enslin/Fullah for LWB, depending on how big the injury crisis is, but I feel like we should be fine for now.

And yes, Bree has played LB before, over a dozen times, mostly at Luton
  • I would have liked him to get a league one loan.  SPL - he will play against a few clubs of a good standard but the bottom of that league is like playing against league two competition

Potentially 8 matches against Rangers and Celtic not to be sniffed at though, a good move.

I get that, though Hibs finished 3rd compared to St Johnstone finishing bottom last season, so he’ll have to play to an even higher standard to get in their team. That should help him improve, even if not every opponent will be as high a standard as we’d like.

I think it may actually be better for Zach to play worse teams albeit still at an alright standard. His biggest weakness for a cb is his size and strength and potentially positioning as well, what’s going to help him more play good sides who will pass the ball into the back of the net or teams that will be physical aggressive slap a big target man on him to deal with and play direct I’d argue the 2nd

I cringed whenever Zach got the ball, no ambition, no creativity, very little skill, but plenty of back-passes, does not belong anywhere near The Championship.

Is this in the two games he played this season, surrounded by kids with less experience than him? Were you party to NJ's pre-match instructions?

  • I’m really pleased for ZM that he’s gone back to Scotland, it’s a really tough language to pick up, will do him good!

    Then don't read them.
  • It looks like he's being picked for the youth team?!
