Just a small update, my chemo for today postponed for 7 days as blood tests have come back with raised potassium levels. I've also been asked to get a COVID test in next couple of days by my Oncologist....oh well that's life I suppose!
Well what more can I add! Lots more cards turned up this morning all of them with wonderful personal messages and again from around the world. It's just so humbling we don't know what more we can say other than THANK YOU! Just waiting to take Covid test today as requested by Oncologist.. One day I'll be back down The Valley, and I'll buy a pint for as many as I can. I'll ask @TCE to tell you when that'll be, but I guess it'll be (hopefully) first home game of next season. I watched the game on Tuesday from my sick bed, it really cheered me up.....let's hope we can continue this run for a few more games! COYR's Live, Love, Laugh and Be Happy xx #fxxxcancer
Hi again all. I was thinking (yup unusual for me!) I've been completing updates on my condition, moods, challenges and any wins on FB since this disease was diagnosed. It is meant to try and help others in a similar situation or their carers. It started as a daily post/blog at Day 1, but more recently it has become more weekly. I'm now at day 102. If any of you want to follow you can by going on FB - Malcolm Walden. I think I have to accept you on requests but not sure to be honest. It also means I don't have to clog up this football forum for everyone else. Hope this maybe of use as you can, I believe, look back on all my posts to follow the story. Cheers Malc
I don't do Facebook, RM, but it's good to see your updates on here - even when it's bad news it's good to stay connected and keep the good wishes flowing. Please carry on posting (no, Kenneth Williams gifs please) when you feel you can.
At Wally’s request, I’ve nicked his FB post and posted here….…

OK here goes! I reported earlier that my weight had improved, which made my day!
I received a phone call early this afternoon from my cancer nurse, to just chat and see how was doing. We discussed my mental and physical improvement over the last few days, I also told her I'd not had any morphine/paracetamol since 28/9, which she said was a good indicator.
The call ended about 15 mins later, after we had discussed the next round of chemo, and my concerns of going backwards, she told me to try and stay positive!
About an hour later, out of the blue, I got a call from my Oncologist, he rung to see how I was doing, it wasn't planned, but he wanted to catch up with me.
I told him the same as I told, Tandi (the nurse).
Also said I went to get blood tests today and about my weight.
He then went into a discussion with me about Wednesday's chemo session.....its been postponed!
Reason....he was concerned about my severe side-effects, and hearing of my improvement since I stopped the last session 11 days ago.
He will be discussing my case with the MDT senior team tomorrow once today's blood tests are through.
The thought is that they want to help my quality of life, he is very impressed with my improvement and being out of pain is a "HUGE positive", his words not mine.
The chemo maybe reduced and radiotherapy started a lot earlier.
The confidence and mental attitude this has given me is massive!
He said I'm one of if not the best patient he is currently dealing with, as I tell him everything and it makes his decision making easier!
When the call was over I virtually run downstairs to tell Angie!
It's trying now to let it sink in, I'm elated.
Can my treatment be working? Can I finish this disease earlier.....you fucking bet I can!!
Small update - my treatment is being changed and radiotherapy will now start on Monday. It wasn't supposed to start until next March, it seems as though they are happy with my progress! Scared but excited xx #fxxkcancer
Great news Malc. No upsides to cancer but besting the f*****r into submission is great news and will cheer up everyone (but not as much as you and the wife I suspect). Keep posting and keep fighting!

Confirmed chemo has been stopped! Went today for a full brief, radiotherapy will start after CT scan and MRI - then treatment everyday for 5 weeks - followed by 2 months of nothing - then CT scan and surgery to finish it off, maybe as early as February next year!!
