Confirmed chemo has been stopped! Went today for a full brief, radiotherapy will start after CT scan and MRI - then treatment everyday for 5 weeks - followed by 2 months of nothing - then CT scan and surgery to finish it off, maybe as early as February next year!!
Hi all, I've not updated you lately as I've been waiting for next steps. As you know my chemo was stopped about 4 or 5 weeks ago. Since then I've seen a big improvement in my overall health. Having gone from 13 1/2 st down to just under 9 St in 4 months and suffering from pain and severe fatigue, in the last 4 weeks I've been pain free (without the need for painkillers), fatigue has all but gone and I'm now 10st 7lbs. Today I'm off to hospital for a radiotherapy planning meeting, I will be given a tattoo on my pelvis/stomach, so the radiotherapy 'beam' can target the precise location of the tumour. Radiotherapy will be everyday of the week for 5 weeks, I'll be given the start date later today. So I'm pushing forward as best I can and hope to be cancer free by the time of my 69th birthday at the end of March. When I have any further updates I'll post again, but until then. #fxxkcancer Live, Love, Laugh and Be Happy xxย Malc
I have both envy and admiration at your strength and attitude my friend. Truly inspirational. Keep fighting and keep believing.
You will get there Malc ๐ช
Thank you AFKA, but I'm nothing special. I just have to fight and keep positive. I'm not prepared to give in, the support from family, friends and this forum have been my strength. My attitude is, "OK I've beaten heart failure, now I need to fight again, bring it on" If I lose it won't be for the want of trying......but I don't intend to lose. I have a football team in SE7 to watch regain their status in the higher echelons.
