  • Well I'll be going and it doesn't clash with my daughter's work so she will be too. Looking forward to it. I much prefer watching live than on the TV.

In this situation the slow cooker is your friend. I know it's not the same as a proper roast, but it delivers. You may need to compromise a little bit on the accompaniments but you can still have a nice joint of beef and some veg ready for when you walk through the door post match. Maybe skip the roasties purely for timing issues and get those big Yorkshire puddings to serve it in.

Edit. I doubt I'll be going to the match 😂🤣
  • On sale now
  • I've had a word with the club, bad news i'm afraid, they can't get the kick off time changed, to fit in with some on here's culinary requirements.
  • Catching up with this, I can see why it's been chosen, due to the David Vs Goliath local derby aspect.

It's also a game where the 5:30 kickoff is least inconvenient in terms of travel for both sets of supporters.
  • Hopefully for Golfies sake we’ll give them a roasting . 🐑🐖🐓🐄

    so who’s who?
  • Sunday lunch is quite strange as it’s the most diverse meal time wise. Lunch is usually a 12 until 1 event most other days. Yet here we are on Sunday with the 5:30 Roast. Personally I am about 14:00 on a Sunday. So 5:30 good for me.
  • We are mental in our gaff - Son coming over tonight so we are having a Wednesday night roast! Mad lol :)
  • I might get some tickets even if I don't turn up.

Will probably wait until the day to make a decision, once I've seen what's on the menu at home.
  • Do trimmings exist at other times of the year, or just Christmas?

We still have Christmas dinners well in to January. And I’m all talking the full shebang. Turkey, all the trimmings, crackers, Christmas hats, the lot. We like to drag it out in our house.
Keep your eyes peeled on here on Christmas Day for ‘rate, my plate’ you’ll absolutely love it!
  • Any idea how many tickets CVPM have sold for this?

They appear to be quite the cup specialist, i looked at their league table just now and they've only played 5 league games, including just TWO since the end of August!

Meanwhile they've played 4 games in the FA Trophy and 8 in the FA cup.
  • They have won all their away games.

  • Given how the league campaign appears to be shaping up and assuming we won't be involved in relegation issues, for me this is now the most important game to win this season. I'll definitely be there.

Drawn 3 in the FA Cup but won the replays at home.
  • Fair point. I looked at league games.
  • Judging by the CAFC ticket website, Cray have sold a decent amount of tickets for this - I imagine quite a few Millwall are going along for the ride

They miss visiting a real ground 😉
  • If we don't recall Kanu, I'd start Tedic in the cup, and play something similar in strength to the EFL Trophy teams, maybe something like:

    Walker
    Asiimwe Ness Bakrin Laqeretabua
    Kedwell L.Watson Anderson
    C.Campbell Tedic Kirk
  • I believe a team similar to the one above should do OK provided they train as a unit in the days leading up to the game.
No way should the cup team be thrown together last minute.
I got the impression that the squad selected against Brighton in the silly buggers cup was assembled as a bit of an afterthought.
Appleton should take this game seriously.

This one really will be their cup final!
  • Play your best team, hit them hard, score goals then change players around when 4-0 up.  Anything less than 8-0 would be disappointing.

What so another non League clogger can put Leaburn on the shelf for another 8 weeks? No thanks
