Message to Andy Scott

Here is what you need to do in the window:

1) Make dobbo an offer he can't refuse
2) Sell CBT
3) Buy for a 352 formation which will suit May and Dobbo
4) Tell Apples that is what is happening and if he don't like it he can get his coat
5) Buy a physical / mobile proven striker to play up top with May
6) Buy 2 midfield generals to play in front of Dobbo
7) Buy a solid proven centre back to replace Hector
8) Make sure all 4 of these key signings are hard, nasty bastards
9) Send campbell, tedic, ambankwah, and camara back
10) Try and add a bit of flair via the loan system in a few winger type characters - ball carriers who can be brought in and out of the side as and when

Thats it - that is the blueprint - now please make it happen and end this ongoing bollox - fuck performance coaches and a culture shift and all of that shite - just buy the right players and put them in a formation that works

Let's hope he sees this but hopefully that's his thinking too.

I honestly wouldn’t spend much in January unless there was someone amazing available who’ll be snapped up. More players, and much better value, to be had in the summer window.

This season’s over, no point throwing good money after bad. If there’s money available then I would invest it in the summer when it’ll go further.
that's logical but also means we have to sit through another half a season of utter dross - its not my money and if they are billionaires they can make this happen - u also have to weigh it up against the damage another half a year of dross will do to the fanbase

If they disagree then they agree to disagree or one of them leaves.
My post is based on a rumour I picked up yesterday.
I would add that Scott needs to listen and do something about it.

Agree with a lot of that @DOUCHER

I don’t think we can send Camara back though (believe there is no break option in that deal).

Plus if we’re playing 3 at the back Hector can still stay in the side if/when we bring in the new ‘leader’ we desperately need at CB.

Good thing Scott's a member on here otherwise how would he know how to do his job?
    Does Scott read Charlton Life?

I expect a lot of club staff & players view this site. Wouldn’t you do so to see what the paying fans (that play a key part in keeping you in a job) think?

Nah, they probably read into the valley instead as it's a lot more informative 😂
If they do they can read a thread calling for Appleton to be sacked

Well he’s not proven he can yet so a bit of advice won’t go a miss - there’s hundreds of people experienced football players and watchers on here and most of us are saying the same things - I doubt we are all wrong but in case he was thinking of doing something different I’ve spelt it out for him

Oh that's probably just the usual "sack the manager and give the job to me" thread that comes out without fail for every manager after they've been in post for a few days.

I would worry more if there wasn't a thread calling for the manager to be sacked on there as it would mean something was wrong.

    100% on board with this, other than I'd play a 4-1-2-1-2 or old school 4 4 2.

If this next window is as poor as the others, I'd advise Andy Scott to dust off his CV.

Maybe, just maybe having a succession of failed managers hints that the problem is the with tools that they are being provided with rather than the managers themselves.

I don't understand the anti-Hector sentiment. He's recently been out best player. He really has turned into one of those players that divide opinion, of which we have had many.
Better to divide opinion then unite the fanbase with the view that you're total shite.

    Bye Charlie!

Not sure it’s a good idea to sell our only flair player who’s second in the goals and assists charts. I suspect he’s off to a club that knows what it’s doing though.
Also, selling the ball playing centre back who’s been MotM three times, and runner up, in our last four matches because he messed up a couple of times three or four months ago might be a bit tough on him now that he’s finally found his form. Especially when you want to play three centre backs; Jones, the new signing and Thomas, with Ness as back-up is it? Hmmm.
I think I agree with the formation in terms of two up top, but you still need a pacy wide player like CBT. You’d rather ditch him in favour of Tyreece Campbell or similar? Well, as I said, I think he’ll be off anyway, so it’s moot.
One of the downsides of Appleton is that he's so inflexible. One of the upsides of Bowyer was that he didn’t mind switching formations, even during a game. So 352, fine, but not 100% of the time, please.  We should ideally have the players to switch to 442 or even 433 when required (other variations are available) - if only to avoid the boredom and predictability we’re currently beset by. For me, losing CBT and Hector would make that even worse.

hector can stay as one of the 3 centre backs but not the main man - we need a leader and an organiser back there - in an ideal world CBT would also stay and be used as and when - however, i'm pretty sure he's off so that's that - if scott wants to discuss the finer details of the masterplan with me, that's fine - i won't charge

Dear Andy make sure you and Appleton are on the same page and in complete agreement on what happens, even if it turns out to be crap. We can only cope with one kind of crap at the moment, not two.

Sign enough players and law of averages will provide a few who can cut it. Do your job well and properly, all of the signings made will contribute to a consistently performing/winning team. Stop playing the tables, own the casino…

If we do not have a quality window the fan base has every right to turn on Scott. If Scott provides the evident goods in terms of quality and Apples cannot get them doing the business, he should be the focus.

Let’s also see what the owners are willing to invest, but they may have given up the ghost on this season as so many of our fans have already done too?
