No Santos or Dion Charles for Bolton today nor their first choice keeper Nathan Baxter. Might make things interesting. Can understand going for a more physical option upfront and then May and Aneke off the bench?
What would be the difference starting Chuks until he's had enough as opposed to the general consensus that he should only be playing the last half hour / 20 minutes?
In addition to the injury enforced reason Tango gave, I think the idea is that the opposition defenders will be knackered by the 65th/70th minute so Chuks can beast them.

the man mountain Santos .. got a bit found out by the Pompey striker Yenki a few games back .. Santos, like Liverpool's Van Dijk is imperious GIVEN TIME and space, but hassle them and they become vulnerable and not so smooth n cool Back to Santos .. Yenki didn't give him a second or an inch of space and Santos crumbled, from the strongest to the weakest link, granite to sand in half an hour lol .. It won't apply today it seems, BUT when he is in the team, THAT (the 'Yenki Way') is the plan against Santos
Based on the Lincoln game yes, based on his overall performances before that game, I’m not so sure. His height and physicality has been useful, and he has got himself into scoring positions in every game. Problem is, he can’t shoot. But maybe they can work on that?

“Top-goalscorer Dion Charles (knee) is absent for Bolton, who are also without goalkeeper Nathan Baxter (wrist) and captain Ricardo Almeida Santos (calf).
George Thomason is suspended, while doubts remain over the fitness of Will Forrester (hamstring).”
4/1 isn’t generous, but I’m almost tempted to have a flutter. However, best home record v worst away record (I think?).
It’s gonna be an away win then.
I don’t go for all this ’it’s ok - we’ll lose the next three and then we will have to win our games in March against the lower teams’. We need to pick up a win in the next three somehow - just fight for it in all three and luck will help out somewhere.
Today I think we might just get lucky. We could be about to ’do a Maidstone .’

He’s stronger than defenders whenever he’s on the pitch. But when he’s coming on from the bench he’s actually quicker than some of them too which makes him even more dangerous

Only bring him on if we stand a chance of getting something- don't do a Roy

Unless you are 5-0 down with 2 minutes to go, you are always "in with a chance"...🙄
I expect us to lose today. However the way things are going for us at the moment, we're just as likely to beat Bolton as to beat Carlisle or Fleetwood.
I don't think there are any outstanding teams in L1 this season, where you go there expecting a tonking. Rather, the top 3 are decent teams, grinding out the results.
Dennis Booth turns away to celebrate after scoring his first league goal for Charlton against Bolton Wanderers 14thDec 1968.
LC are you actually Denis Booth or are related to him in some way ?
Lovely bloke (DB not sure about LC ) I think it must have been the season before so 67/68 home match possibly Blackburn but not sure. Pissing of rain all morning but not cancelled according to Grandstand so jumped on an 89 with my mate walking down Charlton Church Lane & it's absolutely deserted so two brains of Britain decide that maybe it's been cancelled but we'd better go down to the Valley to make sure So there we were hanging about at the back of the West stand & DB came out saw us & asked what we were doing etc & had a chat for a few minute's (while getting soaking wet) & then asked if we wanted a programme for the cancelled game, erm yes please. Always think of that day when I see a mention of DB
Glad I could bring back a happy memory for you Bob.
I am really a lovely bloke when you get to know me.
I meet Dennis when he was working for Forest his boss had just got The England managers job for the under 21/23 a few hours early.
Have to agree Dennis is a good bloke.
Thanks LC haha I'm sure you're a great bloke, all best mate.

She also just made a Charlton Hama logo... So yeah have faith. It's coming.

Makes no sense but it would be a typically bizarre Charlton result.
If Dennis Booth sees this that smile will come back right again.
Charlton: Isted; Edmonds-Green, Jones, Thomas; T.Watson, Dobson (c), Coventry, Anderson, Small; Kanu, Ladapo
Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Gillesphey, Edun, Camará, Campbell, May, Aneke
Appleton alluded to it a couple of months ago
