  • Showing my age but I think War pigs is a fantastic opening track, very much of the era but still sounds good today.

    +1
  • Mr Vain - Now That's What I Call Music 18
A grade A banger that one.

Just love the Bonzo, Page and JPJ playing on this one, so tight...
Throw in Trampled Under Foot as a bonus as well...
  • Yeah...Bob has already nailed this but I'll suggest: Iggy Pop/Iggy Pop's - Lust for Life.
  • Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd - Second Helping...

  • Will probably get ridiculed on here - but as a little boy, when mum and dad had their Saturday evening dinner parties with friends round - I would sit at the top of the stairs, listening, smelling the cigarette smoke, and the booze - evening started with mum putting on Gilbert O’Sullivan LP’s

I knew when dad took over

Wings - first track on their best album ‘Band on the Run’ - fab

Later on in the evening it would migrate to Led Zeppelin

Hence I am more than happy to listen to Gilbert O’Sullivan, Wings and Led Zep 😀
  • No ridicule from me Flashy.
My first best track was Moving because of my sister being mates with Kate & therefore that album was played constantly.
I'm just grateful I had older siblings.
I hated the Irish & country albums my parents played 😩

    Then another sister meant,
Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band - Album same title.

    And Bruv meant,
    Twilight - Time.
Could have been a number of ELO albums but that was my fav.
  • Irish and country albums weren't the greatest growing up.
    Forgot a couple, both Manics
Slash and Burn - Generation Terrorists
    Yes - The Holy Bible
  • Iron  Butterfly - In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida 2006 remastered from the album of the same name

Sometimes - Rattus Norvegicus - The Stranglers
Great choice! Fantastic album that also has the best end track: Down in the Sewer
Tank from Black and White was another great opener
  • A Tab in the ocean by Nektar...only track on side 1 but awesome.
Never thought I’d read someone put Nektar on here. I love them. A tab in the ocean is a cracking album. I also love Down to Earth   Fair play.
Totally agree have both albums too. Great rock band.

An eclectic mix, but these are all 10/10 in their own way:

    - Your Song - Elton John
    - Enter Sandman - Metallica
    - Welcome to The Jungle - Guns N Roses
    - Innuendo - Queen
a lad I was at school with was a big Elton John fan, I wasn’t particularly fussed, then he played me Your Song and I saw what all the fuss was about

The Police's Roxanne, from Outlandos d'amour is a pretty good first track, especially as it's the band's first album.
First track on Outlandos is Next to You.
If it was next to him, there’s no excuse for him getting it wrong.
