  • A funny old game, is Football.

Thirty five years ago, I worked for a specialist transport company in Stevenage. They (and I) were very successful in drawing local support in Herts and Beds. The directors sponsored Stevenage. Your truly used to support their efforts, meanwhile making the pilgrimage to Selhurst to witness the miracles of Lennie Lawrence. Much water under since. Fast forward thirty five, what do we find? The “Red Hot” Sales machine, with specs, hearing aid and false teeth……….with Charlton sitting well behind Stevenage. How the mighty have fallen! Sic Transit Gloria.

Sounds good in the studio re the build up to the 97/98 season, signing Clive, Bowen, Bright, and Matty Holmes etc...memories are great ain't they
  • Should have checked this thread earlier having been banging my head against a brick wall trying to sort out my Dad's streaming issues.
  • Love Brownie slagging off the opposition defending for his headed goal. Very on brand.
  • BC doing his best to get them out of the tunnel early for once.

  • Weird team. I know Jones is a Christian but is he the saviour because his team selections are getting stranger & stranger.

Ladapo, last chance saloon, been shit so far. Still no Jones, Wickham I assume injured, would like to see Taylor at some point. If the idea was getting Wickham in as a short term trial then at least it's confirming he's injury prone and we don't need another one of them.
rather than Wickham still being injury prone ..... it sounds to me like, after not playing for a year it was a high risk and predictable he'd straightaway pick up an injury niggle.

He probably needs to have a full pre-season.

Would you really want to take that risk at when there will be other options out there?
  • Not feeling very confident about Ladapo up there, let's hope he can sort out his recent performances today
  • Jones maybe seeing this as a make or break game for Ladapo as he looks towards next season's rebuild.
  • Back on track

    Walk in the park this

It is good to see our fans agreeing  :)
  • Poor ball from Ladapo to try and feed Dobson, probably the better option compared to trying to find Kanu, but could have done a lot better with the pass.

What’s strange about it? Standard keeper, three CBs at CB, the same 4 across midfield and wingback as usual. The only thing that’s changed is instead of playing Anderson, who is very out of form, at the tip of the midfield he’s put Alfie there, where he’s done well before. Two strikers up front. It’s hardly a strange selection is it?

The strange thing is that Anderson's replacement, Ladapo, has been in even worse form.
