      Hand ball by (Stevenage).

Good attempt from Kanu to get beyond the last man, after a long ball from Hector

Ball was just far too ahead, allowing the Goalkeeper to come out and clear
  • More I see of Small, the more impressed... had a  good start today...
  • Ball into the box by Small, but straight into the Goalkeepers arms
  • Weird team. I know Jones is a Christian but is he the saviour because his team selections are getting stranger & stranger.
What’s strange about it? Standard keeper, three CBs at CB, the same 4 across midfield and wingback as usual. The only thing that’s changed is instead of playing Anderson, who is very out of form, at the tip of the midfield he’s put Alfie there, where he’s done well before. Two strikers up front. It’s hardly a strange selection is it?
The strange thing is that Anderson's replacement, Ladapo, has been in even worse form.
That’s a squad building issue, not a selection one. If Jones wants to try Alfie behind the strikers then he has to replace him with a striker. Can’t start Chuks so it’s Ladapo. Add to that that Ladapo is essentially on trial it’s the logical choice based on what’s available

Nice build up on the right brings a Watson cross, but he was unable to find Ladapo, out for a GK

  • Watson bends a dangerous low cross into the Stevenage area but just too far ahead of May 10'

Nice ball in from Watson but no one can get close to it, out for a goal kick.

10 mins in, main focus has been to play it down our left with Small, Dobson plopping balls over the top and wide for small and Kanu.

  • Slightly concerning how quickly we appear to have run out of ideas under Nathan. Happy to give him time and see what he can do with his own squad but doesn't look super inspiring today or against Exeter imo
  • Hector carrying on from the Exeter game, and showing some good solid cover early doors
  • It's got the feeling of a pre-season friendly.
  • Oxford 1 F/wood 0
  • Hector carrying on from the Exeter game, and showing some good solid cover early doors
    And some shockingly bad passes
  • Not been any real chances yet. Three of Stevenage's last six games have been 0-0. They've got the fourth best defence in the division which is why they are in the play-off hunt - don't actually score that many themselves.  19'

    In fairness, just the one.

Ladapo needs a performance today. Preferably a decent one…

Ladapo has to prove himself today. No excuses
It is good to see our fans agreeing  :)
He is playing that way so he can go back to Ipswich who are most likely going to get promoted to the Premier League.

Jamie Reid (Stevenage) wins a free kick on the right wing.

  • Yeah, Ladapo. Meh.

  • 22' Booking for Ben Thompson
He brings down the advancing Kanu.

  • My word, we look even worse on the telly 😂

  • Former Millwall man Ben Thompson is booked for taking down Kanu on halfway Was sent off against the Addicks a few seasons back when he was on loan at Pompey 23'
  • Why can’t our players control a ball or make an accurate 10 yard pass? What do they do all week at training?
I just watched the Leicester championship game and although only a league above the quality of the players v ours is as different as night and day.
We would get murdered in the championship.

Not with NJ new team for next season  :D
  • 'fraid early doors Kanu is again isolated up top, Freddie just can't seem to get into a game, and gets knocked off the ball far too easily for a big guy, roll on Chuks...

Unfortunately we've been getting murdered in league one for large parts of the season. Hard to work out why this group don't even look like pros sometimes
