I understand the head groundsman was previously responsible for a golf course. Probably why the grass has been cut so short.

Funny, my son just mentioned that to me just now when we were discussing the state of the pitch for tomorrow night. It's been raining on & off since Sat night & I'd imagine the pitch is going to be rather heavy going in 24 hours time.
