Burton have quickly become team number 13 to announce a signing.
They have signed Midfielder Elliot Watt from Salford on a free.
Surprised he's moved to Burton of all teams, one of the favourites for relegation next season. Personally had him a bit higher up than that.
I think what alot of people dont understand is that at this level very few players will have a main motivation of achieving something, their main motivation will be money and what best secures their families future. None of this is to say they dont care about if they win or lose but more that it will be secondary to the money, if a player has a choice of going to team A who is tipped for promotion or team B who are paying £500 more a week it will more than likely be team B because thats an extra £26000 over a year or £52000 over two years.
The idea of achieving greater things is a privilege to the very young (in football) or higher level players.

I completely get that it’s a short career and for the majority it’s about the money now. I just thought he would go to a better club than Burton Albion in this league, and it’s not like they’re going to be paying him loads for a League One club.
Burton could be an interesting one to watch , new manager in Mark Robinson (ex AFC Wimbledon and Chelsea Academy) and ambitious new Scandinavian owners with sports backgrounds.

I remember many saying similar last year when they purchased Cole Stockton and Rakeem Harper.
But they ended up being worse than us!
I would hope this year we are competing at the other end of the table to them.

Yeah I don't expect them to suddenly be competing for playoffs out of nowhere just because they've got a bit more financial muscle than they did in the past and takeovers are never a guarantee that they'll work out for the better after having the same owner for 20 odd years.
Definitely want to be at the other end of the table , as congested as I expect that to be!

They’ll need to fix their pitch though as imagine he’ll want to play more of a passing game

Oh absolutely, that pitch would be the first thing I'd get fixed as the owners because he'll definitely want to get the ball down and play.
Window now officially open so no excuses now : - )
So why havent we signed anyone yet?
Haven't we signed a goalkeeper
that one change might just have made the difference in reaching a playoff place last season if it meant we stopped some of those goals that needlessly cost us points.

A different goalkeeper wouldn't have got us an extra 24 points.

24 points is (i m o) an exaggeration, however poor keepers cost points and make any defence uneasy .. I say AGAIN, the keeper is the most important player in the team, even more so than a great goal scorer

Seems to be quite injury prone.
That also shows Salford's place in the football pecking order...
