It is certainly an odd one. Risking a career ending injury whilst running contract down etc simply to sign for a long ball yoyo club. I can't imagine Rotherham are paying that much so it also calls into question what wages we were offering I guess.0 -
Or he’s gone to play for a team that he’s played for before with a manager that he’s played for beforeAthletico Charlton said:Six-a-bag-of-nuts said:So Clarke-Harris hedges his bets all January in order to hold out for his dream move to.... Rotherham.

Unless there’s a place in Mexico called Rotherham, he’s had a stinkerAberystwythAddick said:

Or... Any transfer fee that would have gone to Peterborough last summer, or in January
Has now gone to JCH and his Agent as a signing on fee, albeit a little bit less than what Peterborough would have been given.1 -

Viktor Johansson has left Rotherham to join Stoke, he will be a huge loss for them.

Rotherham have signed Reece James. (No, not that one) Their 4th signing and it’s not even June
How I wish we were that active…0 -
I think it’s important to remember that Rotherham are the outlier in the league with these signings. There’s no need to worry yet as the majority of clubs haven’t brought players in.6

Always liked him. One of the best left backs in L1 in recent years. Seems to have always played for northern clubs.DDOUBLEE said:Rotherham have signed Reece James. (No, not that one) Their 4th signing and it’s not even June

I wouldn't swap him for Small though , so it is not a signing I would have wanted.2 -

True but NJ has spoken openly about us needing to do a lot of business and how he wants it done early.
So whilst not worrying, I will be disappointed if our business has not started before June does.
As posters say above we have been here on too many previous occasions where we go for Championship level players, don't secure them and miss out on quality L1, achievable signings whilst we dither.
NJ gives me confidence that won't happen this time but the likes of Scott and Methven don't.4 -

Transfer window don't open yet..all Rotherham desks are free agents, ... Plus what Methven got to do with anything he has no say in Recruitment or day to day running if the club.. and Scott will be chasing players that on NJ list that he wants, Nathen Jones as already been the one who been talking with agents not ScottAthletico Charlton said:AberystwythAddick said:I think it’s important to remember that Rotherham are the outlier in the league with these signings. Are you not able to comprehend anything? The transfer window not being open does not stop a club from making signings whether they are free agents or otherwise. It just means they can’t be registered or play for you until the window opens.RonnieMoore said:

The window is closed in all but name. It’s open!! Players signed now can’t play until the window is open and when does the window open? Before the season starts!!!! Therefore the window is technically openRonnieMoore said:

I stopped engaging with your nonsense a few years back but genuine question. Are you drunk?2 -
Not L1, but Port Vale have signed Ronan Curtis on a 3 year deal. He did well at Wimbledon, so surprised he moved to another L2 club.0

Am I right thinking he struggled with fitness/injuries? I rarely watch opposition players that closely but he was one of those I noticed and was annoying for us to play against.killerandflash said:Not L1, but Port Vale have signed Ronan Curtis on a 3 year deal. Missed about a year with an ACL , was at Pompey rehabbing until Christmas and then had a 6 month deal with AFC Wimbledon to get fit. Am also a bit surprised it's not a League 1 side that's signed him.1 -
Pete O’Rourke has said Rotherham are close to signing Joe Powell from Burton.
