Thankfully our fans are known for that.Comeonyoureds said:By the time he's back it will be about a year out, we should give him a fair bit of leeway, as he will likely be very rusty.16 -
I doubt very much Asiimwe will be a squad member this season.Crispywood said:

We won't be okay if Bell is left back, as he'll be injured in no time.NabySarr said:
It’s good that we have Mesik and Bell. So we’re ok at left back without him for now, so can give him the leeway he needsComeonyoureds said:By the time he's back it will be about a year out, we should give him a fair bit of leeway, as he will likely be very rusty.6 -
Think he'll be the next one to go now we have McNamara. Not sure what level he'll end up at however. Might have to drop back down to L2Bedsaddick said:

Josh Edwards in 1905 for a Q and A on Saturday as he "nears a return for first team action". Would hazard a guess in the Q and A we will get a first hand POV on when he expects to be back.13

I sat next to him at the shirt sponsors lunch a few months ago and he expected (then) to at least take part in the latter part of pre-season, so I was disappointed when he didn't... Fingers crossed he's back soon...2
-
I really do hope Josh can come back and play an important role in the squad but am not feeling optimistic given his return date has been pushed back a couple of times now2
-
Guess it depends on definition and exactly what he said. I’m sure NJ said he was back training with the group which I suppose is taking part in pre seasonCharlton_Charlie said:I sat next to him at the shirt sponsors lunch a few months ago and he expected (then) to at least take part in the latter part of pre-season, so I was disappointed when he didn't... How bad does a player feel when they know they've munted a player for such a long period of time? I'd feel sick for the rest of my life every time i thought about it3

good point...at the time, I took it to mean we'd see him in a game, but those were his exact words, so I guess training counts....1 -
It was off the ball from memory?KiwiValley said:How bad does a player feel when they know they've munted a player for such a long period of time? I'd feel sick for the rest of my life every time i thought about it0 -

No it wasn’t that incident.
It was in a home game last season where he took the long throw, and it went following that? Or have I missed something? Or is it the same injury?
1 -
Yeah it was that. He destroyed his hip in a bad landing then tried to stay on and take a throwcafc_se7 said:No it wasn’t that incident.

He went down just before after landing badly. You could see him struggling to make his way over to take the throw in and went off immediately after.cafc_se7 said:No it wasn’t that incident.

I thought he went for the ball in the air, and accidentally had his foot kicked?1
-
First time I heard he destroyed his hip. I rolled his ankle badly in that challenge.Leuth said:

Oh was it ankle not hip? Fine1

I heard it was so bad it required amputation from the pelvis downwards.mendonca said:

He's now part-Cyberman but the problems with his recovery have been due to some dodgy microchips purchased from a black market site in China.
That and getting his bionic legs signed off by the football authorities.2 -
who kicked him? Was it malicious arguably like Clare's0
-
IF the collision or resulting injury was accidental then almost all will write it off as one of those things, occupational hazard, TF it wasn't me. It just about remains a full contact sport.KiwiValley said:How bad does a player feel when they know they've munted a player for such a long period of time? For the determined thug deliberately sticking the boot in, he'll be unrepentant. The absence of empathy goes hand in hand with the required brutality. The Paul Elliotts, Clive Mendoncas and Matty Holmes pay the price.
There are always a few exceptions. One of the players witness to David Boost's career ending horror injury gave up the game unable to unsee/get over the incident.0 -

This is now giving me Kelly Youga vibes
Kelly got injured and never returned in the first team , but stayed for another 18 months or so.
If Josh is still someway off is it worth not allocating him a squad place? Could we loan in a left back to cover until January when we could register him5 -
Youga was quality for about half a seasonRichard J said:This is now giving me Kelly Youga vibes

I know someone who was mentoring Kelly when he was at the club and he told me that it was a psychological thing with him. After the injury he could never convince himself that his body was up to the rigours or the professional game.wmcf123 said:

Real shame as after a slow start he was really looking the part.
I don't get the impression there will be any similar issues with Josh and if he does get back on the pitch he will be as whole hearted as ever. The concern is whether his ankle will be up to his levels of commitment.7 -
Josh had ankle ligament damage sustained during a match against Blackburn Rovers in September 2025, he tried to carry on after treatment and then went off after taking a long throw.

Had Edwards had a setback? I'm sure i read a couple of weeks ago that he was back training, although i assume after so long out he was doing his own training and not with the rest of the squad.0
-
He’s had setbacks since he’s got it, was meant to back at Christmas, then he could have been back before the end of preseason but Jones said we gave him time off to be ready for preseason which he then was training for and felt good on the pre-season tour and now nothing. Will obviously get asked in the Q&AChris_from_Sidcup said:Had Edwards had a setback? You have to feel sorry for the fella. He got a big move to London from Dunfermline, he had a lot to prove and has done well.4

Big miss for us he was the new Wiggins so comfortable positional sense and could tankle let’s hope we get the same when he returns these Scot’s are made of strong stuff (Fraser apart)2

Now you really are making him sound like Greg Shields.ElfsborgAddick said:You have to feel sorry for the fella. He got a big move to London from Dunfermline, he had a lot to prove and has done well.
Come back soon please, Josh, and prove these concerns wrong 🙏0 -

Memory serves that he should have played more games than he did for us.
