Edwards or Bell returning would allow TC to attack more, and that in conjunction with either Kelman or Godden up front could make us a far more potent attacking force.Crispywood said:
Whilst I agree Coventry, Southampton, Middlesborough and Stoke are the only teams to properly outclass us, the whole way we set up in games is to be structured and stay competitive, so even though we shouldn’t lose a lot of games based on the play, we also don’t create enough to go how have we not won that game. Which is an absolutely fine way to play with the quality of our team but we shouldn’t even talk about finishing top half let alone top 6 let’s stay up firstqueensland_addick said:
Amazingly, I think we may only have been 1 or 2 points better off, having gained a point at Wrexham and possibly Stoke.stoneroses19 said:We will never know, but would have loved to have seen what position we'd be in if he (along with Kelman and Bell) hadn't have been injured and missed so many games.
From what I've seen, the only teams to have outclassed us are Coventry, Southampton and Middlesbrough. There's not much to choose amongst the rest. If we can get our best team available for most of the second half of the season, whilst adding one or two in January, then there's no reason why we shouldn't be looking at top ten or possibly even the 6th spot.
Hull, Preston and Millwall are currently top six and none of them looked any better than us when we played them.
We ourselves were top six until the injuries in key areas hit us hard.
Yes it's optimistic, but not impossible, given how strong we become in the second half of last season.2 -
Josh has been a massive miss, Burke and bell will be back for Boxing Day.👍1

My favourite current Charlton player. He’s been a huge loss.3

No specific date known but soon... From him today at Junior Reds party when I asked... How long "soon" is, who knows.4

He's a full pelt kind of player, he doesn't have the first touch or crossing ability of say a Bree, but he will run through brick walls for 90 minutes without question.mendonca said:Edwards underwent ankle surgery in mid-October. At this stage, he and Godden appear to be the only two longer term injuries that have required surgery. He does risk placing his foot in awkward positions when going into tackles at full pelt, so perhaps a slight adjustment to his playing style could help reduce the chance of future ankle problems.
I reckon if it takes longer to get him back to his normal play style then it's worth it.1 -

I reckon if it takes longer to get him back to his normal play style then it's worth it.He also has the best ability of getting us free kicks from sloppy opposition play than anyone else in the squad, the way he gets his body in front of the opponent at times. Probably a massively underrated aspect of our defensive play that we've been missing of late.Josh and Kayne are by far my favourite players in this team, cant wait to see him back4 -
Big miss
Come back soon Josh0 -
Whilst also negating his effectiveness. I hope he comes back in realistic time to let allow himself to heal.mendonca said:Edwards underwent ankle surgery in mid-October. Love the bloke. He is a warrior and just the type of player we love. What sums him up for me is him actually trying to play on after the injury that was obviously serious enough to keep him out this long3
