You say ‘unsurprisingly’ Adam Stansfield was in the middle of it.

On the contrary, I think that’s very surprising indeed.
Completely disagree. He is the sort of bloke who could start a fight in a locked empty room. Was at it in both the home and away fixture this season and Steve Brown described him as a bizarrely angry man.
Don’t think so, he’s been dead for a while now.

Draw has been made for 2025/26... Such a shame we're not involved... Very sad

Under-21 teams and Group Stage draw confirmed for 2025/26 Vertu Trophy - The English Football League

I can honestly say I have never attended one of these games and had we ever reached Wembley I still wouldn't have gone.
Just being in this competition is a reminder of how far we had fallen.
Hopefully we will never play in it again.

Hopefully in a couple of seasons time our under 21's are destroying Millwall, Leyton Orient, Sheffield Wednesday and Gillingham with regularity in it

I think those games provided a bit of a half way house opportunity that helped the development of some of our young players, and maybe exposed some weaknesses too.

The previous version of the contest was a proper cup competition,  won by decent teams,  many of a similar size to us.
