    Cav made it
One more day for him to survive, then he can enjoy his victory lap into Nice - Be nice if they changed the order, and made him one of the last to finish, rather than one of the first.
He's a pretty good ITT wouldn't be suprised he get's top half and may sit in the winner's chair for awhile:  He usually only does a good ITT if the next day he's going for a sprint win, but being his last Tour stage who knows?
  • Ahh just saw the parcours in Nice.  There's two climbs, one of 8.1 k's.  Cavendish won't be doing a fast for him ITT.
  • Carapaz KOM, well done
  • Love the bloke!! - Thats how his career at the Tour de France always should have ended... On his terms

Really pleased, and unsurprised that he didnt drop out.

Cav is going to get a special Podium today

Plus he finally gets a special jersey which I've been wanting to see since 35.

Lovely last km watching Mark, with the fans and now his family, especially when he crossed the finishing line - Sounds like he even got the Lantern Rouge.

Thank you Mark, for some amazing years watching the Tour

Hope he has a great time in Retirement when it comes at the end of the year!!
  • truly astonishing that ITV4 aren't even starting their live coverage until 20 minutes after Cav has come in
thank goodness for Eurosport, was great to watch him finish

It'll be interesting to see what he does if its similar to what Renshaw has been doing this Tour for example - Sounds like today is it though, watching a twitter interview with him and he's asked if today was his last race... big pause... Likely so yeah

I'll be slightly surprised if he doesn't do anything else, e.g. the Tour of Britain, but its a fitting send off to end his career here and now, rather than have a potential end like the Tour last year.

I watched it on TG4 in Ireland (helping with the rusty Irish).

I didn't realise Geraint Thomas had podiumed in the Giro in May. I thought he might be calling it a day after this tour, but that might suggest he's got another year in him at least. Sounds like Inneos have issues to resolve to get back where they'd like to be, so it'll be an interesting one seeing what they and he'll do. You're a long time retired if you're lucky.

It's a crying shame that he couldn't finish on the Champs-Élysées. I wonder if thoughts of that could tempt him back one more time.
