  • Celtic fixtures: Leipzig (H), Dortmund (A), Club Brugge (H), Atalanta (A), Young Boys (H), Dinamo Zagreb (A), Slovan Bratislava (H), Aston Villa (A)
    Quicker to say LLLLLLLL
At least start it with a W.
Shows how poor the new format is if that scum start winning games.
  • Man City now unbeaten in 24 Champions League games (in normal time), just one behind the record set by Man Utd between 2007 and 2009.

They won their last game in the old format too 😁

Cracking bodyswerve to take out two defenders and shoot into an open goal. He must have been studying JRS, against Port Vale I think it was :D  (hope the clip opens- its the third for Sparta against RB Salzburg. Great result, didn't see that coming. Hopefully no geo-blocked and that Twitter translates the comment for you too)

Imagine if an English equivalent, say Leicester managed to win the league.
  • Tremendous double save from the penalty by Arsenal keeper.
  • That Raya second save is one of the best I can remember. From the side angle it’s an absolute joke.
  • If Declan Rice puts that second rebound into his own net (as he almost did) I reckon it's one of the funniest own goals of all time

Really good save but also absolutely awful all round by the striker.  Stupid run up, soft penalty, then had an age to stick in the rebound and didn't.
  • What have TNT done to the Goals show? Disastrous.

James Richardson and the team were so knowledgeable and interesting and have been replaced by the same old muppets with their hackneyed spouts.

The old goal show was the only good thing TNT had.
it was perfect for champions league coverage and they’ve ruined it.

Panathinaikos will be their biggest game. In the UEFA association coefficient rankings, the Welsh League is 50th out of 55, 7 places below the Faroe Islands  :D

Great to watch Villa and Bayern both trying to win the game and either running with the ball or top passing skills, short or long.
75% Bayern possession and Villa trying to exploit the high line that Bayern play under Kompany on the break with Ollie Watkins.
Both teams using the width to maximise the pitch and to create space.

Super Sub Duran, the 20 year old  Colombian scores a cracker to put Villa 1 up with 11 minutes to go against Bayern.

70% possession but Bayern just can't force a goal as we reach added time of 4 minutes.

    Two cracking saves by Martinez.

    FT 1-0 Villa
  • Salzburg- Juventus another cracking game. Juve 3-2 up with ten men.
  • Great drama towards end of Villa game.

Great game, brilliant atmosphere. Jealous as hell.

    🤣🤣🤣

Just came across this post after discovering that tonight Lille beat Real Madrid 1-0 while last night Brest went to the Junior Plastic club (RB Salzburg) and won 4-0 and are second in the table

There's a nice article about Brest here from back in February, but I read something more recently that said they had had to sell key players in summer because of financial issues affecting all French clubs due to a failure to close a new TV deal.  Can't find that one though.

As for Lille, that's a 50,000 stadium they play in, and that part of France is much like the England's industrial north. You wouldn't want to go there on a cold Wednesday night in October. Real clearly didn't. ;)

Lille might be the workaday part of France, but hardly Stoke when it comes to the weather  :D

Brest have had an amazing start to the CL considering how small they are, indeed their own ground isn't good enough to host games.

You always worry with the smaller clubs it will all go tits up at some point, but they are certainly bouncing at the moment.
