Can't you just ask your neighbours to take their fence away?

i barely know them tbh and i would find it all a bit awkward. i can deal with people up to a point but they are very formal and i find it hard to talk to them. Or ask them for the contractor's number - they were paid to deal with it.

it's theirs. I'm so useless at this kind of thing. I'm a kinda person who just wants to be left alone. Still, step up and all that... going over there later to ask is there any chance they could get hold of the contractor to finish their job and get rid of the pile of trellis and ivy they have left which i now have piled up in the garden. 

Hopefully it goes alright and thanks for those who have advised on here.

Just go out one night and chuck the whole lot over the fence. Their problem, not yours!

You are being very honest and credit to you for that, big time. Fair play for biting the bullet and going round there as no two ways about it the fencers have taken the piss

When people read out their mobile phone number with a weird cadence. 

I always expect a mobile phone number to be read out like….

12345 / 123 / 123

My brain goes into shock if it’s not read out this way and have to get them to repeat it a time or two.

Lady at work always types mobile numbers out with no spaces, which really gets on my tits.

Yeah very occasional I'll come out with 123, and have to hesitate before saying 12 / 123 / 123 because my brain doesnt know how to read out the rest of the number properly.

You don’t need to talk to them to chuck it back over.

i use a 2 2 3 4 formation for my phone number. the first 2 has the goalie in it.

I think they tried to harmonise telephone numbers a few years ago and the 'correct' format for all numbers in the UK is:

--- ---- ----

i cannot say my mobile number that way it doesnt fit in my head, i have always used

----- --- ---

I would encourage everyone to read the closing remarks of Rajiv Menon KC (defending) in which he skates as close to the edge of contempt as I have ever seen anyone do without falling off. Whilst I certainly would not want to be in his shoes were he ever to find himself in front of the trial judge again, he raises issues that are absolutely fundamental to justice in this country. Issues that the former Tory government tried desperately to block and that the current Labour government has (disgracefully) continued in exactly the same vein.

Some of the acquitted were celebrating in the Lord Herbert last night. My main thought was they are so young. And obviously brave and committed to their cause. Chapeau to them.
