Beckenham Spa used to provide plastic shoe covers for the swimming pool side changing rooms. Not sure if they do now as there's a box with them in to sell.

    These sort of things.

    Unbranded
Nope, they no longer have them there. I was surprised to see they'd gone on a recent visit.
They have at least introduced a wristband system for the swimming pool to stop people sauntering in without paying.
  • Online check in for car servicing -  is car servicing now done virtually ??  It would appear so because now when I book my car in for servicing at my Ford dealer, days before the booked date I get texts and e mails telling me to book my car in for the service in days to come online. I had cause to change the date of the service (by telephone with them direct not online, bringing the date forward not pushing it back)  and Ive today received a request to book my car in online for the original date for the service appointment which was cancelled by this telephone call and the service has already happened as the date was brought forward to an earlier date !!!!
This leads into another frustration of modern life - when technology makes things more difficult and frustrating and not easier - bring back just having landlines and fax machines please !

Anyway - this online check in farce at airports and now at car dealers serves zero purpose for the customer as by definition you cant check in, in the true definition of the word, until you are physically there, you cant check your luggage in virtually you have to be physically there to do it  -  but what it does do is let the airline or car dealer know that you will actually be attending on the agreed date and are highly unlikely to be a no show. If it was called what it is then fair enough - something like Confirmation of Attendance, Intention to Attend - but Check In ?   Until you are physically present at the required location of airport or car dealer on the date and time agreed, by definition you cant check in.

They should rename it, 'mandatory marketing and data grabbing'.

So anyway, I thought I'd top up the AdBlue to stop these f***in chimes, and idiotically ended up putting screenwash in the AdBlue tank. Very frustrating, but had lots going on - but that's not the point of this post.

I want to name and shame Fuel Fixer, who, after keeping me on hold for around 15 minutes, quoted me £850 to drain the tank. Bear in mind, I hadn’t even started the engine and was told all that was needed was to drain the tank (so this is a service charge only, with minimal, if any, materials needed, and their engineer lives 5 minutes away). I told the bloke where to go, called another company (one man band?), and he's now coming out to do the job for £195.

To fully get rid of Norton you will need to download the “Norton removal tool” it’s a bastard to do without it

Just like to give a shout out to Wrong Fuel 24/7 - done the job literally 75% cheaper than the above. Imran, top bloke, came all the way over from East London n'all. 👍

Modern diesels are such a pain in the rear end. I know you can code out the adblue requirement but it's probably a MOT failure if the tester is diligent enough to check.

Work calls that happen when they're not f**king well needed.

Doesn't help I'm feeling like shit with the dreaded man flu today, so not in the mood for actually talking. But a Client requested a call for today, to go over some Reports that didn't match previous Data that had been sent across back in May!!

Okay... I'm thinking they want to discuss in detail about what's wrong etc... So dont take my usual approach of: "Do you just want to email me over the problem, and I'll investigate" - No, the call with about five of their people takes 5-mins because they want to confirm that they'll send over on email the name of the two files that didn't match, and what was wrong... in which case... Just do that in the first bloody place!!

Twats who create stone piles at every beauty spot around the world.
    It’s nature.
    Leave it.
    As bad as graffiti.

The punishment should be similar to dog poo bag throwers.
  • Googling the punishment that dog poo bag throwers receive without getting a definite answer ... even from A!!

When I am finally elected, the punishment will be to clear a 1km squared area [of my choosing] of all litter using only their teeth whilst farting “I’m a selfish twat” continuously.

This may need refining as it passes through the House of Lords

I think it can look rather nice. I'm not saying it fits in everywhere, and I'd tend to agree for some noted natural wonders or world heritage sites. But just here and there is fine by me.  I really enjoyed stumbling upon this collection at Ystradfelldt. I hope that the person who did it got as much pleasure out of doing it as I did seeing it. And it is natural anyway: a naturally evolved organism, used it's naturally developed intelligence to place some naturally occurring stones in a position where perfectly natural forces hold them in place for as long as the natural phenomenon of entropy will allow.

“Leave no trace” was good countryside code.

I saw this mentioned on tv recently. I can't remember exactly which organisation said it, but they are concerned that stones are being removed from ancient dry stone walls and they are asking the public not to do this. It was probably one of the National Parks.

PWR. Mobile phone signal. Just spent two weeks in Kefalonia not one issue with signal. 5G wherever we went on the island. Land back in England surprise surprise limited signal all the way back home and just in general signal is terrible. Why?

I don’t mind something like a suit or a ballgown ( most of mine are sequins anyway) but when it’s a shirt it’s a bit much.

Really annoying when you see a headline on Newsnow like "Wales forward McAteer joins Charlton" and you read on to find it's the Women's team they are referring to. Just wish it was made clearer when they are talking about the non-mens team.

As I don’t own a suit or ballgown, but agree items that are worn more frequently is a right pain in the arse!
