It’s debatable but let’s not turn Conor Coventry into the Championship Pirlo.Leuth said:

He's good enough for our midfield, but Jones blames him for a goal or two so he's dropped him for the foreseeable even when he'd obviously have been the best choice todayScoham said:

Coady/ Docherty midfield away from home when you should be the side in control.Abject.1
-
Can he stay at Swansea after the last game? He’s back home then and we can find someone who allows their players to string more than 2 passes together.0
-
We could end up with a points deduction for crimes against football29
-
I’m not convinced any of our midfielders are good enough really, other than Carey when he’s on form.Leuth said:

Had we got the same result (or worse) with Coventry, others would have said why not play Coady with his experience and his record with us.7 -

He had a decent budget and wasted it, he doesn't deserve a penny to spend, the man is a fraud just like stoke and Southampton fans sayblackpool72 said:Most of our squad is league one standard.
I'd like to see NJ given a decent budget in the summer to see what he can do.
Far too early to think about another managerial change.

I feel Jones has taken us as far as he can - need fresh ideas and Championship class coaching team next season. Very appreciative for what he’s done but the Sheffield Wednesday factor and points deductions to rivals has been our saviour this season.
Posting this I know it has echoes of the alleged feelings towards Curbs at the end of his reign - I still call bullshit on that particular myth though.3 -
We're more than six points clear of Leicester...Oakster2 said:I feel Jones has taken us as far as he can - need fresh ideas and Championship class coaching team next season. 50 points, 3 games to go. We’d all have taken that in August16

Yeah but all those defeats needed to end with us playing out of our skin each and every week for that to be acceptableNabySarr said:50 points, 3 games to go. We’d all have taken that in August1 -
Nathan Jones red and white army!!5

Even if we stay up can the owners trust him with more of their money in the summer when he’s already spent £10m on players that hardly ever play?0
-
People saying that they'd like to see what Jones could do with a bigger budget, I'm curious as to whether they think Jones has a good track record when it comes to spending money wisely.
We've spent the best part of a million on Ahadme, who was a terrible signing. Spent 2 million on a youngster, only to drop him after 10 games and loan him out after 4 months. Signed Oloafe and did the same. Knibbs wasn't even that highly rated by Reading fans and we shelled out 3 million. Then paid another 3-4 million for a striker who can't get in the side. Add to that the predictably terrible signing of Burke. Kaminski failed to impress, and by dropping him I'd say that's confirmation it was a waste of 2 million. Not forgetting JRC who has barely featured.
Carey, Godden, and Bell are probably his only signings I'd call good.
Giving him 15 million to spend again would be financially reckless.4 -
Should be thankful that people are calling for Jones' head againAs each time its happened so far, he's made those comments look idiotic and pathetic3
-
I don't necessarily agree with those calls - but in my view we're past the point of calling them idiotic and pathetic. We genuinely can't score more than one goal, even against a team on -4 points.ForeverAddickted said:Should be thankful that people are calling for Jones' head againAs each time its happened so far, he's made those comments look idiotic and pathetic2 -
Failing to get more than a couple of draws (and failing to deserve more than a couple of draws) from the position we were in and a run of Norwich, Bristol, Preston at home and oxford, a pathetic / on the beach Watford, and Wednesday away
that just ain’t right10 -

I do understand that argument but I’d argue that our recruitment team should be better this time out. Chapple will have been in post for a year rather than a month or two and he’s clearly been searching wider (look at Sichenje). Our January business has generally been good, I’m hoping that continuesSheedyCAFC said:Even if we stay up can the owners trust him with more of their money in the summer when he’s already spent £10m on players that hardly ever play?7 -

calling someone’s opinion “idiotic and pathetic” just because it doesn’t align with your view….end of discussion for meForeverAddickted said:Should be thankful that people are calling for Jones' head againAs each time its happened so far, he's made those comments look idiotic and pathetic6 -

It just feels like it's going to be a very expensive summer. Quality CMs that can transform us aren't going to be cheap so hopefully PC has racked up the air miles going wider afield to try and find some gems.fenaddick said:

I always knew we'd be a difficult watch this season , I didn't quite expect it to get this difficult.2 -
Bang on, once the other teams found us out after approx 8 games, he just didn’t seem to have the nous to change, always appears to be clutching at straws! And it’s never his fault.Croydon said:

If you didn’t expect us to be doing better, then you have not been watching any of our matches. Fact. People need to get a grip and stop banging on about budget and playing football manager , looking at bits of paper.ForeverAddickted said:LittleAddick said:

look at the players on the pitch and how effing pitiful they are playing. If you don’t think they could and/or should be doing better, then you are the naive one!2 -

Our midfield has been our problem all season, nothing we can do now, but if it’s not the priority to replace all of it I’ll be pretty pissed off. Keep Carey but he would need to be scared of his place in the team at the very least.Chunes said:

Your comment - " if you expected us to be doing better, than am sorry thats just naivety"
my response is this a single simple question - "do you think the team should be playing better than they are?"
Please answer with one word only - yes or no
(and before answering would urge you to reflect on today's opponents, Preston and Watford's recent/current form)
