I’m shocked at no centre mid, considering how light we are if we get an injury or suspension

Tovide is a league 2 forward that has missed 15 games through ankle injury in 23/24 and then has missed 12 games through a mix of hip and hamstring injuries in 24/25.

He wasn't available for 25 games in 23/24 and 12 so far in 24/25. From the information online.

The bar is on the ground, and some of you are bringing shovels.
He’s only 21 - some of those injuries might be behind him under our new regime. Would you say the same about the club who eventually sign Miles off us?

I’m not excited about what he could contribute in the next six months. I’m excited about what 25/26 and 26/27 looks like with him in the squad.

That all said, this could all be a massive wind up so grain of salt required. :-)
Why would my post be a wind up? Those stats are real and he's had a lot of injury issues.

This window should be used to bring in players who will be ready to make an impact. We already have brought in a promising player who may need time to get going, another might not be the best idea.

I'd like us to be targeting players who we know are fit and ready to make an impact. I don't think that's a crazy ask.
Didn’t you just earlier say you wouldn’t mind us signing Cornick because we are in desperate times?
Last I checked, and not sure if I've read wrong, but Harry Cornick is ready to play if he moves.

That's how low my bar is, ready to play and not recovering from injury.

He’s not played a minute all season. Being fit and being match sharp are very different things. Not sure how long Tovide is out for but I reckon there’s a good chance he’d be up to speed quicker than Cornick

I don’t think it can be a good window unless we get someone to replace Gillesphey. We can’t keep relying on a defender that is makes mistakes as constantly as he does.
Not sure what I swore more at when watching the highlights on Saturday.  Gillesphey’s disaster of trying to bring the ball down…or the commentator saying it was “an uncharacteristic error from Gillesphey” 🤦🏻‍♂️🫣🤬🤬
Funny you pick out his one and only mistake yet fail to mention the two tackles he made first half that stopped goalscoring chances … plus in past few weeks Jones and Mitchell have also made errors that resulted in goals yet don’t see anything said about them !!
Jones had a mare against Rotherham as did, pretty much, the whole team. That was uncharacteristic, for him, this season. Mitchell has looked a bit leggy for a few weeks and in need of a break. Thankfully, Ramsey’s return has allowed that.

Gillesphey has looked better since Jones return (Mitchell too), but there’s no doubting that he has been a weak link since he arrived. But we’re a League 1 team and players in this league are here for a reason. If they were better, more consistent, they’d be playing higher than L1. I accept that.  It may well have been his only mistake on Saturday, but it has cost us the win.

Wonder if they see Enslin making the step up. He’s been with the first team squad on some recent match days

Is he a holding midfielder though? Would think Gilbert’s signing has probably stopped Enslin breaking through this season

From this it sounds like Tovide won’t be out for much longer

All guess work. Point is, that's how bleak it's been. I was warming to the idea of Cornick. That was the main point.

I wasn't ready to crack a bottle if he rocked up holding a Charlton shirt, put it that way.

Surely that depends on whether he becoms a Charlton player or not?

Lisbie an exciting prospect? They must be talking about young Kevin!
19 goals for Charlton in about 10 seasons.
    He was crap
You can't say that, he's a legend, he scored a hat trick at The Valley against Liverpool...🤷‍♂️
    Blimey, I never knew that.
I never know when to take you seriously Elfs...
At a risk of being wooooshed, Sept 28th 2003, were you there by any chance?
Never take me seriously mate, I don't want you to be the first :)

one thing that may create that link is the new Development Phase Coach who has joined us i believe from Colchester. Maybe something in it from the perspective of him recommending this kid to NJ?

Leaburn is the only one I could see potentially going, and wouldn’t be shocked if he did.

My concern is that they try and get a fee for Small now
If he won’t sign a deal then why not?

I don’t think we should but ultimately it’s a business, he’s probably worth a fair chunk imeven with 6 months left.
But does he have more value for us in the play-off chase?

He’s mainly played LWB for the u21s but is very versatile, he’s covered CB, CM and up front at different points this season, and on the wing when they’ve occasionally played 4-3-3.

He signed hours ago, the delay in the announcement is the media team have no obvious idea to use for the big reveal.
