OK, I have long since some to the conclusion that all football supporters are lunatics. But I'm beginning to think Charlton fans are the worst.
I've been watching this thread all day. At the start, we were saying "we need some midfielders, what if X, Y, or Z gets injured?"...
09:30 it's announced we've signed a central midfielder. Cries of "Not that one! He's played hardly any minutes/he's not started any games/ he's not what we need" etc. etc.
Then someone comes up with the story about another midfielder. One who's already injured. Suddenly everybody get's excited. "Just what we need!" Why? I presume to keep another midfielder, IF they were to get injured, company in the treatment room?
Then supporters who have moaned about Leaburn's and Aneke's fitness records, get all excited again at the thought of us signing a player that has played about HALF the possible games he could have, in the last 2 seasons. Let that sink in. About HALF the games he could of played. Through injuries. Again, I assume, to keep Chuks company next time he does his [fill an area of anatomy here] again!
Jones has said he wanted to sign "quality" and "game changers" rather than quantity. Yet you think we should be signing players, that with the best will in the world, wouldn't be fit for our next home game...
Then, when it's announced the Owen Dale has signed for Wigan, we're back on "Oooooo! We're a bit light in midfield" again!
I hate deadline day! It turns us all into raving, frothing at the mouth, lunatics!
when you were 6 years old and the ice cream van man asked you what topping you wanted, you'd ask for a bit of everything and be buzzing if it spilled all down the sides, on your jumper, your shoes, the lot - when your an adult, on transfer deadline day you just want signings - loads of em, even if they don't fit on your training pitch
So we’re spending money on a highly rated 21 year old that clearly fits how we are playing. He scores and creates, his physical profile is very good but yet people aren’t happy?
This is exactly the type of signings we should be making. A young player on the up, that we can develop to be a good player for us and maybe potentially sell on for a good profit
It's actually really tiresome, the club simply can't win. I think we should bring back Allan Campbell, plenty of experience in the leagues above right?
You have seen his stats. One goal this season, no assists? 6 successful passes. 1 successful dribble. 340 minutes?
And when he was at Swindon? I mean, I HOPE he's really good, but his profile says that with just 27 appearances in professional football, that nobody on this forum knows if he actually can score and create.... his 60 second you tube video replayed 2 highlights.... yes.... 2....
Clearly the money people aren't spending any more serious money. The squad is pretty much the same as start of January. Jones is planning for the summer, so strip out any waste now. He'll try to make it work until the summer and then offload more dead wood.
If we make it to the play-offs the owners will see it as a bonus, if not, the season was still incremental progress. Yada Yada Yada!

IF he signs, it will be because our professional scouts have watched and assessed him as being good enough.
Everyone can look at the top stats, but that is not how you find a hidden gem. That takes hard work.
Fok sake Nathe... the one Luton player who I bet is going to be decent at this level this season as well - We're going to end up 7th now arent we, with guess who firing home a winner for guess who in the last game to snatch 6th, probably be on Goal Difference too!!

That's the spirit! I knew we'd eventually get you over to the dark side !

Blimey, what defenders have we got left to ship out?? Watson I guess, maybe Laq on loan? REG seems unlikely.
And who have we been linked with to bring in I wonder.
Zach Mitchell
He's apparently asked Lyle Taylor his opinion on Charlton, and he cant get him to shut up whinging

Could be I guess but assumed that was already done... Worry would be Thierry Small.
