Interesting Bolton have spent that money on a player when they have to drop someone from their nominated squad to fit him in as they are already at the limit.  They are also saying they will target 2-3 more.  That sounds a big squad to me.  I wonder how their manager fits them all on one training pitch at the same time.
From what I heard, they sold a lot more half and half scarves in the Wrexham game than we did which has massively boosted their transfer budget.

    Fair play to Bolton.

Barnsley have signed Neil Farrugia on a free from Shamrock Rovers. He has played as a wingback and Midfielder.

If he performs like he did in the Irish league, a very good signing potentially

Nelson Abbey was called back with something already lined up.

P.S. Was meant to be in reply to @Athletico Charlton
Not sure how I messed that up.
  • Gavin Kilkenny (remember him??), looks likely to be leaving Swindon for Bristol Rovers.

Suggests they’re probably no longer in for Jones

Probably because we rejected a very decent bid for him.

If it's true, fair play to the club, I'm under the impression it is.

i honestly don’t think our owners have done anything bad since they have been here mate. They are putting money in (maybe not as much as we would like but that’s their call) and to turn a decent offer down for jones shows to me that they have ambition

Played under Regis Le Bris at Lorient but still one of the craziest championship signings ever.

Le Fee sounds like something said in Franglais when you can't remember the French word for fee...

Wycombe signing this lad suggests that any deal for Jones has died.

You say that, but what if this time next year they don't want to continue funding the losses?
Which will be hefty staying in this League, We need a little more ambition/ investment now to get us promoted IMHO.

Not a Charlton transfer directly, but looks like Jonjo Shelvey is making a return from Turkey, and is rumoured to be joining Burnley.

Signs of intent from both Huddersfield and Bolton. Randall someone I’d have liked us to sign for sure. We will do very well if we make top six.

Joe Taylor is a frustrating one. Would have been one that would have been a real statement even if it's not really a position of need , he's a proven goalscorer at this level with resale value too.

Joe Taylor is an interesting one.  First couple of years as a professional, he didn’t play much and wasn’t overly good.  Then last year he had unbelievable year half in league two and half in league one.  Moved up to the championship this year and hasn’t done anything.  Is he a one season wonder or was the championship move just too soon for a young player.  It is hard to tell with a forward who is primarily a poacher and not a traditional center forward

I don't know why you bother lads. We ain't signing anyone.....certainly no-one decent. A few waif & strays will leave but ultimately come February we wont have strengthened enough to make a challenge for the top 6.

Pete O'Rourke saying Wigan have made a bid for Wiredu. Can see why people would be disappointed it's not us but not sure he would get into  the team ahead of Jones

On paper, it's an excellent signing, and makes up for them missing out on Alfie May in the summer.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Wycombe drift out of the top2 and Huddersfield take their spot. Which if I'm honest, I'd be fairly happy with. There's only 2 teams I wouldn't want to face in the play-offs if we were to make it, and it's them and Birmingham. I feel everyone else is fair game.

The losses in the Championship are even bigger.
