It would take an amazing drop in form for us not to reach the playoffs; however, I believe the 2019 squad (individually) was stronger than the present one. I'll get me tin helmet!
It was better, although, it's closer than I originally thought now.

Jones replaces Bauer, Pearce or Sarr for me, if we go with 3 CBs it would be difficult, but the two that deffo make it would be LJ and Bauer.

Edwards clears Purrington imo, if Purrington was a consistent 7/10, then Edwards is a consistent 7.5/10.

Ramsay or Small over Dijksteel, just think they offer more.

Coventry in for Pratley, but all the other 18/19 players keep their place. I'd have TC over anyone from 18/19 tbh even Lyle, but I think Lyle over Godden.

Looking at 4 players minimum getting into the 18/19 team now imo.

I think the point to remember is that the league was much stronger when Bowyer was in charge.

Was it? Luton and Barnsley automatically promoted? Compared to Birmingham and Wrexham spending their millions etc.

More of a level playing field - But ironically

     - Luton were newly promoted from 2nd in League Two (same as Wrexham)
     - Barnsley had been relegated from the Championship, and bounced straight back after finishing 22nd (same as Birmingham)

The 2019 team was better, but so was the opposition back then.

Is it really 1pm? That would rather scupper my play off final tradition of a pre-match curry lunch in Wembley.
Post-match celebratory curry will be even better though......

As much as we all hate him, an 18/19 Taylor and current TC partnership would be unreal. He’d get TC a lot more goals

What we have more of now is depth. The 18/19 eleven was the best in the league that year, but we also spent a fair amount of the season having to play Solly or Sarr at left back, Lapslie in midfield or started the season with about 3 subs etc so ended up 3rd rather than 1st

It certainly looks like the Wembley Final for League 1  Playoff is a 13:00 kickoff.  Which is a bugger as I land at Gatwick about  12:00.

1 o clock ko?? so the powers that be have even managed to move a wembley final from 3pm for some reason. The pre match build up is all part of the wembley day out surely

Just checked and last year the final was a 4:15 KO so clearly the EFL have moved away from 3pm

Yes  we are obviously early to not clash with the complete Premier Leauge programme kicking off at 16:00.

Does anyone know when the playoff final kick off time will be confirmed?  I appreciate this is massively tempting fate, but I now have the faith I was lacking when I agreed to a holiday that clashes with a certain important day in the league 1 calendar...
Wembley website has the kick off time as 1pm; Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final

Sunday May 25th is also the final day of the premier league season, so the playoff final might be earlier ko time for TV coverage reasons, due to Premier League games kicking off at 4pm.
Good spot that. Does seem quite likely to be earlier in the day if the PL games all start at 4.

You'd assume Wembley haven't made up the 1pm time for shits and giggles, and there are other upcoming games listed there with the time as TBC.
Annoying, but the 1pm time makes sense as Sky will want the game over before the 4pm PL games start.

If it went to penalties, the trophy lift would be pretty near 4 as it is.

Now I understand why the EFL are so desperate to get Wrexham up. Can’t have their US fans up at 5am for a playoff final. :-)

Is what it is as bowyer would say but it also makes sense to allow the fans of the 2 teams in the final to enjoy it fully rather than cutting the build up short to suit premier league teams - it’s just another insult tbh like that silly cup where we play PL under 21 teams - genuinely wouldn’t want to win it

Not really an issue for us, Wycombe or Reading but would be a pretty shit day out for Stockport or Bolton, especially if they lost.

6-7am departure, get to London with very little pre-match pub time, lose, go home.

Oi !  It was Sunday (evening) dinner I was moaning about. Missing lunch is fine.

Funny thing is, there is a lot of moaning on here already from other posters about the timing if the play off final.....many moaning that they wont be able to get a pint or three beforehand.

    1pm ko suits me fine.

Back in time for 🥘, a 3pm kick off over Wembley way would have meant cancelling dinner or a late one. All is good with the world.

1pm kickoff = midnight in NZ. Happy with this (if we make it…).

I refuse to rule out 2nd. Having watched Wrexham's last 2 games. The referee basically handed them the win vs Burton and they were awful vs 10 men for about 50 mins. They didn't even have a shot on target against Wigan.
