We have had 12 clean sheets this season compared to 5 last season and when the defence in front of the keeper are on it with Jones the rock then it was never a priority. So if we want an improvement then the summer will be time to bring in a keeper and then let one of the present two move on. Good luck in getting a keeper who is special. Both Crazy Hamer and stay on his line Phillips were decent but had their faults.
Seen so many times on the scores on the doors this season when we have had a solid defence.

Remember what the Leicester fans were saying about Yann when we got him.
Absolutely rubbish they said.
Then when we signed Kirk we were told he was brilliant.
Sometimes player's perform really well at one club and really poor at another.
I've no idea how good or bad he will be for us but it's ridiculous to judge him before he's kicked a ball.18 -
He’s giving me big Morgan Fox energy.
Apparently a useless left footed defender yet he’s amassed over 300 career appearances - all but 24 of them at Championship level.3 -

We've had more than a few ourselves. Simon Francis went on to captain a Premier League team, McGrandles is beloved back at Lincoln, Alan McCormack went on to play at Championship level somehow. I doubt Tranmere fans were gushing about CBT and Sunderland fans couldn't find enough negative things to say about Dobson when we picked them up but they were our best players over the past few years. Different times, different clubs, different outcomes for players sometimes. Fingers crossed McIntyre is good, we're not hanging a lot of hope on him; he either pushes us on or we're stuck with the defender who has played more games than anyone else as we've got within touching distance of the Play-Offs. Could be worse.

Portsmouth fans also said that MacG was the best goalkeeper in the league, sometimes fans get it wrong. Oxford fans still love Appleton0

Our keeper gets a low score, "nothing to do", say some - seemingly oblivious that the keeper is also a key part of that successful defensive unit.

I do have a lot of sympathy for these players having to stand there like lemons and celebrate an imaginary goal so they can get turned into a rubbish gif. Probably hoping he never scores so he doesn't ever have to see it

One thing I picked up on from watching the behind the scenes was his old man follows Welling United, so I would imagine is local. That could be massive for us, as having his Dad at games that don't collide with Welling might be something he doesn't have week in week out at his other clubs. Came across as a good kid with a good attitude, so here's to hoping he is a solid acquisition. Used to be very highly rated as a youngster.0

Back to work today been off all week. I work 10 miles from Reading and have a lot of Reading mates. The consensus view is he is slow and cumbersome but gets his head in where it hurts.
Those Reading fans who liked him was because he was a local lad and they said they were lucky to get 50k for him when he went to Portsmouth.
Watch this space i guess.
