The West Highland Terrier in a photo frame on NJ’s wall was the stand out for me.

Love the way he leaves Rodwell hanging about 17 seconds in!

NJ mentions McIntyre and Anderson can cover the holding role, though also says we don’t have a designated holding player with us becoming more fluid. I guess Coventry getting forward for one of the goals on Tuesday is an example of that.

Yeah did well. Think the only real mistake he made was when trying to let the ball run out and their player nicked it from him.

And fouled him in the process

Sign him up if he keeps playing like that, even as just a backup to Gillesphey the LCB side of Defence will feel pretty secure.

If that's in response to my comment, it was a moment in the first half I was referring to.

Gillesphey looked a bit wobbly at times again without his mate LJ alongside. Can’t really blame McIntyre for that though. He certainly got stuck in.

Played very well tonight for someone who hadn't started a game for nearly 3 months.
  • Excellent performance tonight. Looks so composed and times his tackles really well.

Stepped up and delivered! First class performance definitely worth signing if we have the option I think

Impressed by him tonight.  Very very premature to say sign him up based on 90 minutes though
  • Looks a bit like he’s been to the Chuks 2025 school of running quickly. I guess you  don’t have to be super fast if you’ve got skill in other areas.

Agreed. And of course it depends on what division we're in, it's worth noting that both Gillesphey (Plymouth) and McIntyre (Pompey) were considered expendable by struggling Championship sides.

Way too early to be saying that, wait until a) he's played a few games and b) we know what division we'll be in next year.

decent 'start debut' last night .. not as commanding or as assertive as Jones, but went about his business generally in a calm and forceful way .. I think he'd like to join us f/t and probably will come promotion .. unfortunately that might put Alex Mitchell's place at risk

If Mitchell can't get into our team in L1, then it's unlikely he has a future with us if we go up.

Always need a squad though, he’s unfortunate he’s competing with two of our best players in Ramsay and Jones, and now McIntyre, who originally was probably mainly competition for Gillesphey.

Jorge Costa looked like he’d never run or rushed for anything in his life yet he always seemed to be in the right place when he was needed.

I was a little surprised he came in for Jones last night, I thought Mitchell would suit that role the best (probably better than the right sided centre back role).

Far play to Mcintyre though he did a solid job.

I think NJ believes McIntyre is better with the ball at his feet. Mitchell is more an old fashioned "blood and guts" CB.
