At the end of the day were beat by a moment of brilliance ( and Coventry falling asleep) by a player that cost £15m . Did they really threaten us much apart from that?
We should have been down to ten men anyway . I have no idea what AMB was thinking.
Would AMB have been an instant red card... or would it have been yellow as he wasnt stopping a goal scoring opportunity?
We lost a scrappy 1-0 away game to a team that spent more than man city in the summer window... can live with it. We will still get playoffs barring any substantial injurie
Oh, also Jay Stansfield looks like a right little wanker and I hope someone snaps him at some point.
Also I'm getting Lyle Taylor vibes from Alfie May, right twatty behaviour with the over the top celebrations after the throw in and general facial expressions.
We just seem to love signing players who lack a bit of class when they leave and play against us.
Disappointing but I didn't expect anything from this and I felt we at least limited them. Don't recall Mannion having a save. We were in it until the last seconds but never really tested their keeper either. Though it was a game for Chuks rather than Kanu who was easily managed. Chuks could have caused a bit more disruption to their defence. Still very much in the mix for playoffs. UTA.

I think Jones was thinking the game might have been a bit too fast for Chuks. I thought Leaburn caused them problems but they rush you and I don't think there is another League One side that can do that to the extent they do.
Birmingham have a whole team of players that are Championship standard and a bench full of players that would make any first team in League One, so a 0-1 defeat is no disgrace, and as for the other results, there's a third of the season left to go. Anything can happen and I expect at least one of those teams above us to hit a bad patch.
Their keeper's distribution is as good as any you'll see in the Premier League and our pacey players were nullified, though I thought Ramsey had a really good second half. And don't forget how much they paid for their goalscorer: much more than our entire squad!
The change of style was definitely the way to go and I was surprised not to see Chuks get a few minutes. I really thought we might nick something but it wasn't to be. All in all our drfrnce played OK.
It wasn't like we were hammered, we were beaten not by a struggling team but by the best in League One.
So, not disappointed. We will bounce back from this one.

In fairness, don't suppose Alfie May feels any great love or warmth towards Jones after the way he treated him.
Birmingham did their homework on Charlton wing backs Small in particularly got no change at all from Cochrane.
Birmingham better first half and scored good goal from Coventry being sleepy on the half way line.
Fair play to Nathan Jones for attempting to change the team shape 2nd half but it didn't change direction of the game. A very scrappy second half. Birmingham had plenty to hold Charlton, although we came into it a bit more in the last 15 mins.
The referree was terrible for both teams, with some very unnecessary yellow cards. The rolling around by Birmingham players was ridiculous.
Well done to the boys today was there that much between the sides apart from a 10/15 mill pound striker? ….. The ref was awful and in the last 15 mins done their job for them with some very soft free kicks and keep stopping the play.. which did not allow us to really attack them... defence were excellent agsin although Ramsey really found Andersson a handful... the goal was a break away that's why there was no one for Coventry to pass the ball back to, then a slip but Stansfield still had a lot to do and fantastic strike that's what they paid for.… overall we can take a lot of positives and look how far we have come, we are still a work in progress.. COYR
Those saying we should have been down to 10 men because of AMB's non-given handball ...
There is no way Ash would have been red carded for that offence; a yellow and castigated for being a bloody idiot would have sufficed. There was no "goal scoring opportunity" being denied to warrant anything harsher.
Not even today's cockwomble of a ref would have awarded a red for that.
A word about the ref, and his assistants. Both handballs were ridiculous bookings. You can give a free kick without booking a player. They were stealing a lot of ground for their throw ins but because their fans were vocal ref allowed them to dictate to him. Lots of fouls that didn't look like fouls to me.
I'm a harsher critical than most but I thought we were awful. They won't have a more comfortable 1-0 all season
I’m quite sure they will, and have. We weren’t good, but we scrapped, stayed in it, and in the last ten or fifteen we might have nicked something…but we were probably let down by the quality of our crossing. Did we deserve a point? Not really, but we restricted them pretty well in the second half.
We weren’t helped by Tupac choosing to have probably his worst game of the season, today of all days. The ball didn’t stick, or he gave it away so many times in promising positions.
I was also surprised by the substitutions; Anderson and Kanu, when you might have expected Gilbert & Leaburn - or Chuks - to come on. But Tyreece staying on I found really baffling.
Fair play to Birmingham, they have quality all over the pitch, but they resorted to the dark arts towards the end, frustratingly. That Stansfield is a ‘dislike on sight’ job. Miserable as sin. Shout out to Gillesphey who was my MoM; best game he’s had, imho. Ramsay and Docherty were also decent.
Anyway, no big deal, wasn’t expecting much, goal difference wasn’t hammered - but results went against us, and we’ve slipped out of the playoffs.
To have nicked a goal at the end would have been immense, and I’d love to have seen Brum whingeing afterwards.
Two of our recent better players, TC and TS, were garbage today. Thought that bringing on Kanu was the wrong choice. I'd have had Leaburn and Chuks on at half time and just loaded balls forward from the back.
Now seen Birmingham 3 times this season and have not been overly impressed once.
For the amount of money they have shelled out I'd expect a much higher standard. Yes they controlled the first half, but other than the gifted goal I never felt like we were going to concede.
Second half was a scrappy non-event.
I was calling for a big man upfront at half time and I genuinely think we might have nicked a point if the Leaburn change had been made earlier. Would have been happy for us to go more direct today.
Birmingham are a team who have never really illicited any sort of response from me, but Christ what a bunch of self important, winging, diving wankers. Stansfield is a revolting little turd, not sure how it is possible to go through life that angry - didn't he kick off at full time at the Valley in the league game as well?
Small was nullified today which stifled us going forward and Campbell was just terrible, strolled around for most of the game like he didn't fancy it. Was amazed he stayed on. Just hi-lights how badly we needed that extra wide man option in.
I'd like to see Gilbert in for Berry now. He has an air of quality about him and offered more in his brief cameo than Berry or Coventry did. Rare off day for Connor today.
Have seen the goal a few times and whilst it was a catalogue of errors in the build up AMB has got to do better there. I wonder whether he was carrying the injury before it as he seemed to react slowly and got nowhere near a shot which was pretty close to him.
Exeter a big game now, typically we play them as they seem to be picking their form up.
Birmingham will go up. However, it would never surprise me if May makes only the odd appearance, and is back playing in league one after the Jan transfer window.
I think that if we reach the play offs there were some real pointers today of how certain players can handle big games. Campbell would be one for whom I'd have to question. At fault for the goal along with Coventry, he was expecting the defender to wallop him rather than taking care with the return pass. His performance was in stark contrast to Thierry Small who tried but got marked out of the game. All these games now are big games and there are characters who will handle it, I'm just hoping for a return to form is due for Miles Leaburn to give Jones options. There may be a time to start Gilbert as well, he didn't waste a ball and put in some great crosses and I would have let him start the second half as Luke Berry got muscled out of it. On the plus side, the back line played very well, as did Captain Docherty. The best side won and that was that.

Birmingham 10
Shots on target
Birmingham 2Charlton 1
Were the home fans all sitting on each others' laps?
Not a good performance but no disgrace
Brum have other teams around us to play soon so we can claw our way back up the table.

Enjoy retirement in Doncaster 😂

You know I've been trying to put in to words what it is I don't like about him for ages. Spot on!
