    Now we’re talking, exciting times.
How come we're paying a fee when he was previously moving for nothing?

So Offiah and A N Other for the RWB role keeping Ramsay at RCB and Edwards/ Reece Burke or Amari Bell? for the LWB potentially??
Burke’s right footed, so don’t see him being an alternative to Edwards. Give us the option of moving Ramsay back to RWB but it’s not good news for Alex Mitchell. I can see us moving him on, he came here for game time and I don’t think he’s far off having Zach Mitchell also ahead of him.

Tanto, Kaminski, Burke and Carey would be an excellent start to business. Forward, GK, defender and midfielder.
    Offiah

    Galbraith

    Keillor Dunn

    next in please🙏🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻😂
Forget Galbraith . Someone else with a bigger budget than ours with sign him .
    But as yet they haven't
True . Agent is waiting I presume , unless you know different ?
No inside info but we were interested and he hasn't moved elsewhere as yet.

He and his agent, along with Orient, may well be waiting for a better offer but until that happens we have a chance.
I do hope so but I have a suspicion he’ll run his contract down and give himself many more options this time next year.
Big risk, no guarantees he or Orient have as good a season again
And Orient surely need to pocket the maximum fee they can for him? Even the later into this window they run it the smaller the fee will get.

If our £1.3-5m bid is still active at the end of the window and they don't get more interest from the champ they've painted themselves into a corner where they might have to take what's on the table.

Of course I don’t know but I’m guessing he has about three or four clubs sniffing but like us are reluctant at the fee being quoted. Next year there will be no fee so I’d also guess the number of clubs sniffing will be considerably more. A big signing on fee and decent wages.

Can't see that happening.  Would be a poor decision both career wise and financially. Best to step to the Championship now, get paid a lot more immediately and have a season to prove himself as a Championship (or better) player.
He is likely waiting to see if better offers come along.  If we do some stellar business in the next week that also may help convince him to come to us.

With the added risks that he either picks up a nasty injury or his form falls off a cliff.
His mercury has risen this past season so it makes more sense for him to secure a decent long-term contract at a Championship club now than take the risk of another season in the pub league.

Edit: @fenaddick beat me to it.

Both very possible but I doubt he thinks his form is that transient and I’m sure financially all things being equal he’ll be more than able to make up a years financial loss if he can sign for someone for no fee.

Seems I’ve taken some some stick for suggesting that Olaofe is a bit of a punt. That’s fair enough. It’s a football forum. For those of you that have said I’ve written him off. Why exactly is saying in my opinion he’s a bit of a punt, writing him off. He could be great and hope he is. My main point was that I’m hoping that we are also in the hunt for more experienced Championship players with a good track record at that level. I agree that top league one is where we’ll find most gems but I’m also hoping for a bit more.
Millwall just spent £5mill on a striker who was injured for a fair chunk of the season and scired about 5 goals... Would hate to think what wages he'll be on too...

The 5 years we've been away from the Championship has meant the goal posts have been moved even further away without factoring in the destruction caused by the successive ownership groups/crooks/charlatans/egos inflicted on us since our L1 championship season.

Pretty much damned if we do, damned if we don't - go for an 'ageing Champ experienced player and they're only here for a last payday', lack of ambition from the board. Go for top end L1 players who 'have no Championship experience', lack of ambition from the board AND we have no money. Go for decent solid free transfers and 'they must be crap because their old club OBVIOUSLY doesn't want them and lack of ambition/no money from the board.'

Then we have our weird fascination with ex-players who "could do a job" when they left us with because they couldn't do a job or didn't want to stay with us anyway. Also been talking about a couple of ex-players who have played for the last few seasons in the Championship and have the experience we're possibly lacking and crying out for, but we don't want them because there's definitely zero way they might've progressed from the players they were previously in the intervening years.

Damned if we do, damned if we don't!!
i haven't spoken to one millwall fan who doesn't think they have been well and truly mugged for £5m on that signing - apart from the money, none of them rate the player
But it’s no where near 5 million. Initial outlay will be about half that. It only becomes 5 million if he fulfills all the add ons. And if that happens then 5 mill will be seen as a good deal.

I’m not sure how many Millwall fans you know but most of the ones I’ve spoken to are happy with the deal. The goals per game ratio doesn’t look great on paper but if you actually watch him play you’ll see he brings so much more to the game than that. Still only young at 22 and will hopefully fill out a bit he could go on to be a great signing. We’ll see.
general consensus was for a big unit he's crap in the air - i suppose that could be said about miles leaburn but we haven't paid £5m for him

Think it's going to be about a couple of strikers in double figures as opposed to signing the mythical 20+ man. Don't think Tanto will be the only striker we bring in too.
I hope this is the case. I see Tanto as more of a winger to complement / support TC and not as a main front man.
A sort of kemosabe you mean ?😉😉

Point of order, if I may. How would anyone on here know what our budget is?

Exactly that we either do it on the cheap or as some have aluded too have a bit of money he's not exactly going to be a world record signing.

What the hell has happened to this thread in the last two days?
    Completely ruined by genuine rumours.
But now we’ve been linked with a GK, we can go back to debating whether Mannion is good enough, deserves his chance, must not be dropped and fish puns.
Whoever we bring in Mannion deserves to start as number one .. he was excellent last season and his handling in the final at vital nervous times was top drawer

    Behave 😂
I think noses will be put slightly out of joint Ronnie. I always thought that basis of Mannion's arrival at the Valley was as 'one for the future', I agree that he did very well but experience in a goalkeeper is paramount in this division. Whilst I think some players will rise to the challenge, there are some that won't and progression is what we are looking for, without it we will be in real trouble.

Either way whether we have a big or small budget only Huddersfield have come in for Galbraith despite everyone knowing we had an initial bid rejected. If we give Orient what they ask and no one else needs him he would come to us

We assume Huddersfield have come in for him, Crispy. Orient would want the best or above the best price they can get for Galbraith, mentioning another club that has interest after Charlton's bid was rejected is Orient trying to get bids in to raise the price, good luck to them but if their ambition is a previously mentioned 2 mill, I would say no thanks, good player but at 2 mill it's a gamble.

Had a few beers now and well excited about this goalkeeper talk Belgium international then I googled him and has 1 cap  the goalkeeping equivalent of Patrick bamford :) admittedly  I haven't seen much of Luton tbh but he must be decent so sounds promising.
Bamford at least played over an hour of a qualifier in his solitary international appearance. Kaminski played 7 minutes of a friendly.

    Here you go mate...

Bloke in Sainsbury's told me he has just come back from a week in Madeira and spoke to Ronaldo's old Geography teacher who told him his considering turning down his £650k a day contract in Saudi for a squad role at The Valley because it's easy to get to the O2 and Ikea.

Not gospel but stranger things have happened.  Would be good as he could be this year's Danny Hylton and bring on the young lads like TC etc.

    We will see.

Hey Rodney, I’ve just come back from Madeira recently, I think it was Asdas, not Sainsburys!
