One Luton fan’s reaction on social media… (also a Charlton lad asking if he’s good enough for a team chasing automatic promotion lol)

Others saying we’ve had their pants down at £1m. Another saying he should be about £3 or 4 million…

Kaminski would be a top signing and exactly what we need for the next couple seasons.

As excited by that as you can be by a GK signing!

A very good keeper can be as valuable as a very good striker.
  • Not sure Amarii Bell is on our radar. Released by Luton as far as I’m aware, didn’t reject a new contract so do we even see him as League One standard?
He is probably still on a Premiership wage contract and they need to get wages down.

I live in the Caribbean and have watched a lot of Jamaica's games these last two years. Although often captain, he looked a weak link to me. Perhaps needs the motivation of playing at a higher level.

Seems I’ve taken some some stick for suggesting that Olaofe is a bit of a punt. That’s fair enough. It’s a football forum. For those of you that have said I’ve written him off. Why exactly is saying in my opinion he’s a bit of a punt, writing him off. He could be great and hope he is. My main point was that I’m hoping that we are also in the hunt for more experienced Championship players with a good track record at that level. I agree that top league one is where we’ll find most gems but I’m also hoping for a bit more.
Millwall just spent £5mill on a striker who was injured for a fair chunk of the season and scired about 5 goals... Would hate to think what wages he'll be on too...

The 5 years we've been away from the Championship has meant the goal posts have been moved even further away without factoring in the destruction caused by the successive ownership groups/crooks/charlatans/egos inflicted on us since our L1 championship season.

Pretty much damned if we do, damned if we don't - go for an 'ageing Champ experienced player and they're only here for a last payday', lack of ambition from the board. Go for top end L1 players who 'have no Championship experience', lack of ambition from the board AND we have no money. Go for decent solid free transfers and 'they must be crap because their old club OBVIOUSLY doesn't want them and lack of ambition/no money from the board.'

Then we have our weird fascination with ex-players who "could do a job" when they left us with because they couldn't do a job or didn't want to stay with us anyway. Also been talking about a couple of ex-players who have played for the last few seasons in the Championship and have the experience we're possibly lacking and crying out for, but we don't want them because there's definitely zero way they might've progressed from the players they were previously in the intervening years.

Damned if we do, damned if we don't!!
i haven't spoken to one millwall fan who doesn't think they have been well and truly mugged for £5m on that signing - apart from the money, none of them rate the player
But it’s no where near 5 million. Initial outlay will be about half that. It only becomes 5 million if he fulfills all the add ons. And if that happens then 5 mill will be seen as a good deal.

I’m not sure how many Millwall fans you know but most of the ones I’ve spoken to are happy with the deal. The goals per game ratio doesn’t look great on paper but if you actually watch him play you’ll see he brings so much more to the game than that. Still only young at 22 and will hopefully fill out a bit he could go on to be a great signing. We’ll see.
general consensus was for a big unit he's crap in the air - i suppose that could be said about miles leaburn but we haven't paid £5m for him

    And nobody else will either.

agreed - wouldn't get a tenth of that for him atm - he really needs a good pre season,  an injury free year and some consistently good performances before £m's start getting attached to his name again - Leaburn that is, not the millwall bloke - think they've had one there

Quite happy with Rich Cawley’s way of working disclosing what he can without compromising his sources. As a fan I feel that there is a certain amount of credibility to what he does publish and I think that is great
A couple of fans on this forum got the heads up on him on a couple of transfers already I wouldn't rim his bumhole that much already unless his your best mate :)

  • Fee is expected to be 850,000
  • Fee is expected to be 850,000
    Rich said 7 figures.

Think it was quoted as 1 mil euros
  • Yeah I saw 1m euros which give or take is £850k
  • Blackburn fan I know messaged me out the blue “He’s quality, would be a great signing for you”.

Nope. ( from Rich Cawley )
  • Why was Kaminzki expected to go to Antalyaspor on a free, but to us for €1m?

Can't quite work that bit out!

Just been reading Luton fans on Facebook that came up as a suggested post and they can’t believe he’s going for less than around 4 million and how much they rate him.

Can't see us being able to afford Aasgaard but he'd be a quality addition to the midfield.

Might have been released as they can’t afford him rather than a standard issue
This goes with the cast offs comment earlier - multitude of reasons to leave a club, not always related to being rubbish! Small went to PNE in a free, not sure he was considered 'rubbish' and not of the right standard for the Championship.

Then there's the whole "it's a free transfer so obviously costs nothing" issue that gets chucked around. Ignoring the signing on fee and often higher wages that makes up the package for the player.
  • We’re swooping in for an under pressure arse guard ?
  • With so many perceived quality players that many higher ranked clubs, including us, are circling after.

What the hell went wrong at Luton this year?

Flash enough cash and the arse guard will be released - it’s the way of the world 😂

Read it more Luton have had their pants pulled down - Kaminski and Morris leaving for less than £3mill etc.
  • It seems that Luton paid £2.5m plus add ons for Kaminski, so it looks like we're getting a good player for a cut price.
