  • I think it's just if Penny is going to be in this country or if he's in Slovenia. I'd expect all the Is and Ts were dotted and crossed yesterday.

For me if we've paid £2m or more for Apter than it would have been better spent on Galbraith, who to me looks like the real deal.

Maybe he just didn't want to come, but to me his credentials are far stronger than Apter's.

Still no stand out signing for me. I worry where the goals will come from in this squad. No proven championship striker, given Godden's age.

I'm still excited that it will be championship football this season though, but I suspect we will be witnessing more grind out results football from us. Hopefully we can finish 21st.
If Godden gets a chance at any level I’d have confidence in him getting goals.
    This.
  • I have a feeling it will be announced today.
  • Here comes ouR APTER

Looking at some of the deals floating around in the Championship is crazy!

Derby paying in excess of £7m on a forward from US...and Norwich sold one and potentially selling another for combined total of approx. £35m!

I think Watford's potential signing of Nestory Irankunda for £2.5m (50% sell-on fee!) is a great signing. Absolutely rapid tricky winger!
Irankunda could be absolutely mustard.  I sent a very excited email to Charlie Methven about him a couple of years ago - when he was still relatively unknown in Australia but didn’t get a response.  A couple of months later he joined Bayern.  He’s got ridiculous pace and a cannon of a foot.  £2.5m is an absolute steal considering what his potential is like.
100% I remember watching him in Oz when he was very raw but you could see the potential. I guess he's not kicked on otherwise why would Bayern let him go, but I think with his pace he'll cause some trouble in the Championship. I'm sure wages play a part but if we are considering £2m+ for L1 Apter and Irankunda could turn out one of the signings of the season! I'll put money on him joining lower end PL team for £10m+ in a year or so.

Lets hope he doesn't hit the ground running on the opening day of the season!
  • Why people panicking.. the team away so unlikey   he will join them so there no rush .. perhaps looking at a double announcement later in the week ??

Be chuffed if APTER signs, have a shirt with ARTER on it but part of the first R has fallen off.
    Hadnt really worn it much.
I’m shocked someone admitted to having an Arter shirt 😳😳😳
    I did say I hadn’t worn it much 🤷🏻‍♂️
  • Maybe the announcement video can be him cycling into training with The Automatic's Monster playing in the background, and the lyrics changed to "What's that coming over the hill, is it Rob Apter, is it Rob Apter?"
  • Another Barnsley content creator who is adamant we can't sign Keillor-Dunn 😂

Is it a unique thing to Barnsley where they tell their content creators how much a player is worth and the conditions that have to be met to sign him

'Nestor' Irankunda definitely looked a talent in March last year when I thought he scored a hat trick for Adelaide united when I was watching A-League football.
He will need to sort out his short fuse which has seen him get yellow and red cards since he made his debut at the young age of 15.

If this is a transfer and not a loan I wonder why Bayern are letting him go at 19 especially since the fractured Fibula and dislocated ankle injury to Jamal Musiala against PSG in the recent world crap championship which will keep him out for a long time.

I think it's more to do with the fact it's Bayern Munich and a 19 year old talent from the Australian league will not be a direct replacement yet for someone like musiala.
  • There'll no signings announced until they return from Slovenia...

Doesn't mean they haven't been done, just they won't be announced until the comms team are back.

Sounds like he's got some fairly major attitude problems to address from what I've seen mentioned, undoubtedly a talent but it's if he can sort the rest of it.

I’ll be very surprised if Apter isn’t announced today/tomorrow and isn’t out there already.
