Maybe with social media and local journalists on line and the myriad of podcasts around the country, 'Under the radar' is going the same way as the dodo, Betamax, Topic and time out chocolate bars.
Surprise signings are more likely at the end of the window, when instead of deals taking several days to go through, last minute panic signings are more common, with clubs scrabbling around to sign or loan who's available. And ending up with their equivalent of our Matt Smiths...
Not sure we’ll be doing the scrabbling around signings this season.
Can see us scrambling for a striker at the end of the window considering how much bang average ones cost in today’s market wouldn’t be surprised to see us wait a bit later to get the best deal for one
Never saw Kelman as a Jones type. That said, he'd have a great mentor in Godden.
I'm a bit meh about it if I'm honest.
Agreed, looked a bit ordinary at Wembley, too.
That was credit to the amazing Cafc defence which shackled Both Kone and Kelman in the semi finals and final.
I judge forwards over a season not one match where Kelman managed 46 app which wasn't too shabby as he got battered by league 1 defenders yet still scored 23 goals and 5 assists in 24/25 in a bang average side which over achieved to get to Wembley.
With both Kelman and the impressive Galbraith gone, Orient will struggle to be in the top 12 this season.

The defenders only get harder to beat from here though…
we weren't midtable and didnt lose 12 out of 13 in 2007 when we went down though. nice story I suppose. fairly certain orient weren't even in L1 when we arrived there in 2009. Can't comment on thr tax.. but I'd take a wild punt that it's all bollox
This is a good one! Are they purposely trying to create some sort of rivalry with someone/anyone because they've had none for the past 150 years of their existence?
Hope there were lessons learned from this episode @Off_it 🤣
Shame. They pay some serious wages some of those MLS sides.
If they're offering him 20-30k a week like they do some players then I can see him wanting that move. Probably helps his chances being a regular in the USA team as well as it feels MLS players get priority there. Would be good timing with the World Cup around the corner.
For what it's worth I imagine we are/were interested in both Kelman and Knibbs even if only in a speculative way to see if either was available - both have qualities I think we might be looking for.
That said I don't know if either ever progressed to "serious" interest on the level of bids being made and in either case we'll have other options.
If either/both did happen, great, but I put both of them firmly in the "probably not happening" box personally.
That’s pretty close to what I thought it would be. Hope is son cry’s more when the get relegated
What a silly little sh1t this bellend is-back with the sour grapes and limited vocabulary from the depths of mummy's basement again! To think that on the night he was conceived his dad could have been doing something, anything, else.
I’d eat my hat if we get Kelman and knibbs. Would need silly money to get them imo and I doubt either reading or qpr would want to sell.
I think QPR would be happy to sell, 23 games for them and no goals. Knibbs has a year left on his contract and is unlikely to sign another with undoubtedly better wages else where so Reading would be stupid not to cash in while they can. Buy both and Yates and move on Godden.
No way will NJ sell Godden, aside from what Godden brings as a footballer, NJ has a proper man crush on him!
Some Charlton related transfer bits I've seen over the weekend.
- Apparently Everton have nabbed one our 16YO's - Reuben Gokah, not one I've heard but confirmed on The Athletic - Matt Penney has signed for Aldershot Town, being a season ticket holder, I'll report back on his progress, they seem very excited - Saw an account on IG saying Knibbs was interesting Oxford, Pompey and Sheff Utd. With the later preparing a £2.5m bid.
A friend who's also a little ITK also reported that we have good money to invest in forward but only if we believe it's someone they could trade up down the line.
Not fully Charlton related but ex player Alfie May is apparently signing for Huddersfield for £1.2m, do wonder if we included a sell on?
Mixed views on their message board ‘Down at the Mac’. Did make me laugh with one poster saying that their board would go into meltdown if Charlton nipped in again mid medical and with another asking if they’d use the photoshoot photos from before.
Kelman is an interesting one, i'd be pretty surprised if we went in for in. He wouldn't be cheap, and i doubt QPR would sell to a rival anyway. I don't think it would be a guarantee Kelman would start for us anyway - can't see this one happening at all.
Both Kelman and Knibbs are 5 ft 9. I'd have thought we'd want more of a target man type of striker.
Knibbs is definitely taller than 5ft9, I think his height is incorrect on wiki, transfermarkt has him at 6ft1 which looks more accurate from when I have seen him play

Or maybe he feels he first needs to establish himself in the Championship?
