If we have signed him I have no clue if he can step up but regardless our owners should be acknowledged for the backing they have given this window
FWIW the signing I have been most impressed with so far has been Amari Bell it makes such a change to see great balls down the channel not going straight out for a goal kick
I think Kelman is coming, but it’s interesting how many sources seem to be quoting each other, which in turn becomes a body of evidence, when in fact there’s only one or two genuine sources.
I have to admit I don't know much about the Women's team but they are signing a load of players at the moment too. Well done to the owners for their backing of the club. Hope we can announce Kelman soon 🙏
3 million is cheap for a striker who just netted 21 goals in the league alone (27 all comps!), and he's only 23.
For context, Josh Sargent who is 25 and only scored 15 at a level above, nearly went to Wolfsburg for 24 million, fee agreed, move rejected. Admittedly, he has had 2 seasons now where he has proven himself, at a level above, but that's still a massive price difference and makes 3 million seem a healthy gamble.
If Kelman now replicates a similar season, he will be worth upwards of 10 million.
I think people need to start getting their heads around some of these fees being polite, players who are in their early to mid twenties who are in form in the championship and league 1 are worth millions, especially as a forward. You don't get proper quality for small fees at this level anymore.
You are paying for
- His sell on potential - To avoid competition from other clubs - A potential goal return
And when it's all said and done, it isn't our money. Surely there should just be excitement around signing a player that outperformed all of our forwards in the same league last season?

Think the fee concerns are more because he has 12 months left on his contract, if it was 2/3 years then the £3m would be more reasonable
Waiting for QPR to sign a striker from Germany so we can announce them a similar time.
Well maybe but Kelman isn’t a feature of QPR’s squad is he. Yes I’m sure some supporters will be tutting but on the whole he’s been a player surplus to requirements that’s done well on loan. QPR fans devastated ? I can’t see it. In fact I think they’ll see a couple of million quid as damned good business. I still don’t see it happening.

Also because he already has 23 Championship appearances and scored no goals.
Maybe this past season unlocked something for him. But it’d be a relatively expensive gamble at £3m+.
