Wonder if Spurs are now up for selling not merely loaning Donley?
I would be absolutely astonished if that were true. I can't see it happening myself.
It’s quite risk free for premier league clubs to do that now by inserting a buy back clause for say £5million. If they do want him back because they think he’s good enough for their team, £5million would be nothing to them.
I know the club will never say what happened to the deal, but at the same time knowing that fans will be spitting feathers about it falling through, and without at least a post on the OS as to the reasons for that decision, the club know speculation will be the result....Catch 22...I'm afraid that we will never know the facts....🤷♂️
Seeing as the club has said absolutely nothing regarding the signing of Knibbs then they dont have to say they are now not signing him.
True
The club only has an obligation to say anything when it's signed and official. Until then it's all speculation and gossip.
If only there were a shorthand way of saying that.
In relation to ensuring you do a good medical test is where PNE are currently fuming with their management team as Jordan Thompson was signed earlier in the season and the rumour is stoke told them about his injury but he’s had a reoccurrence of that injury and a proper medical would of know how bad his injury or underlying injury was. They now have a new player signed who could now miss the whole season. Again hear say but if it is medical related and he could have been one of our highest paid for fee and wages then we probably don’t want to pay over the odds.
Played a lot through injury last season according to a Reading fan.
Played through injury but managed 45 games, 3812 minutes, 16 goals and 6 assists, some player to achieve those numbers through injury.
Lloyd Jones played through injury towards the end of the season, it does happen. Could be an injury that has to be managed?
With Burke already on board and 'being managed' I think it would be a serious mistake to bring another who carries that tag. We haven't been in this division for five years, some will step up, some won't, players who have injuries that have to be managed reduces our options at time when can least afford to do that, if Knibbs fails the medical, move on and see what other options are available.
I think Dane Murphy has been involved with this transfer and that’s where the problem sits. Too much of a coincidence that we’ve had him now not joining and this transfer falling over.
If Doneley is available then we should go all out for him, loan and an option to buy if we stay up. If not someone like Cam Humphries or maybe abroad. A creative forward thinking mid is a must though

I’d assume it’s more money related , without knowing anything . His fitness record is excellent

While wanting to know what's happened, theres absolutely no need for the club to write an article on OS about it.
It’s not like they have bags of content to say on there, and fan engagement is the key to success.
If people are passing on what they've been told by way of rumours, then I'd still like to hear it. If they've made it up, then I don't. Knibbs was a strong rumour as posted by those more ITK than me, so something unforseen has happened. There's no need for forum willy waving and digging out posters from other sites. We move on.
Oh come on, it is very amusing with noses being put out and back tracking.

A real shame as the many Reading fan's I've spoken to (I live locally) said he's cracking player but more importantly a good team player.
- abusive behaviour to other members
- making up rumours
- jokes about us signing Messi / Ronaldo / Mbappe
