  • I’ve seen a lot of posting saying we have a lot of No.10’s already when we really do not. In my opinion as I’ve said before… Docherty isn’t good enough nor is Anderson, Donley would be great business IF we could get him on a permanent. Donley and Knibbs in the middle in front of Coventry who will sit deep and act as a false CB when needed. Both wing backs will act as our LB/RB when defending which squeezes all 3 CB in the box with Coventry acting as a floater hence why it’s super important we have a LWB/RWB who is capable of defending as well as attacking. You can never have enough quality in the this league.
  • Could it be tomorrow they will announce the new kit with our new signing wearing it 🤔

Docherty and Anderson aren’t the 10s though, we have Knibbs, Carey, Berry and Fullah as more natural players in that role ahead of those two.
  • I have collated all the information from CL and Charlton official web site including the cryptic messages as well as some random global sites and given this to a friend who has a doctorate in information filtering and subliminal advertising 🤔

The conclusion is Fukuda will be announced tomorrow wearing the 3rd kit.

What a great time to be a Charlton fan and a bad time to be a Charlton critic 👏🏼💪🏼💁🏻‍♂️😀

I think if we’re a goal up and trying to see a game out, we will still see Anderson coming off the bench to play in the 10. Likewise, if we are a goal down then I fully expect we’ll see Knibbs moved to the 8 and Carey or Berry in the 10. I think we might see a bit more rotation and horses for courses type team selections this season, aided but a few players being able to play more than one position.

With the post the club put out at 5pm we are obviously announcing a signing tomorrow surely they wouldn’t be building it up if it was one of the trialists ? I’m hoping it’s Fukurda
    Looks like Fukuda yeah

    Looks like Lembikisa

Not going to complain at all because the window has been brilliant but ending it on a Lembikisa or Bennett would be slightly depressing considering how solid our other signings have been
Agreed. I was hoping we would end with a Big Bang.
We will get Bennett as back up, but we need a proper defensive minded RWB to play in the first 11. Before anybody says Apter, remember when we tried TC in that position. It both hinders their attacking ability and weakens our defence. No thanks.
How do you know we are signing Bennett?
Was on a 1 week trial nearly 2 weeks ago so I imagine he's more likely than not tbh
    I am aware of that.
But it would be helpful if he stuck in an IMO or similar when just an opinion or a guess.

At least six out, loans or permanents.
If we had everyone fit, I’d agree .  With Burke, Godden , Berry and JRC injured , plus Knibbs not fit, I can’t see it
Doesn't mean that they wont leave later on this month. Transfer window runs until Sept 1st. Plenty of time for those players mentioned to get fit & then the ones surplus to requirements can leave. I'm expecting a few to leave on or near Sept 1st.
  • Still nothing on the OS about this, so slow in this sort of thing...or of course maybe we are not entitled to be told unless you are into social bloody media...🤷‍♂️

About the kit launch? It’s just a couple of teaser photos, you’re not missing much

Fair enough, thanks for that, but just seems a bit selective that's all...

The point is to drive interest/excitement on social media so putting them on the OS just doesn’t make a huge amount of sense

Problem is NJ is never going to move Anderson on he’s his golden child. With Docherty as well he’s the captain it’s clear Jones wants him for more than what he offers on the pitch and even if he was to be ruthless and wanted him moved can’t see any championship wanting him and no L1 club could afford his wages. Every one and their nan would want Donley but we physically can’t have 9 players competing for 3 positions. The only midfielder that can realistically be moved on in terms of wages and jones favouritism is Taylor and even then he’s injured so would be hard to move him on. Give it to Jan see how all our midfielders step up and if there’s some obvious weaknesses then we can potentially look to create some more space

The 10 role wasn’t specifically aimed at Docherty or Anderson, I meant overall they aren’t good enough… Berry could be an ok sub but even that, I think he will struggle. I can see Carey playing more off the bench than him. Knibbs and JRC will definitely be our first starters along with Coventry in the middle.

List is from a random Facebook page, so likely of dubious accuracy, but sharing for a discussion point as we’re short on rumours today. The list has in 7th for spending on transfer fees in the division.
