Just a guess here but I don’t think he went to uni in Cambridge
I don't think he went to school
  • What a day out that was!

That walk back from the ground to Cambridge train station! 🤪

Very deep voice for a 12 year old.
  • I think the type of game that Cambridge forced it to become did little to allow the footballers on the pitch to thrive. Coventry and Small suffered in particular to long bouts of head tennis and when the ball did end up, almost always by accident on the floor, it didn't stay there very long before it was either in touch or back in the air. I thought the back three were solid without being outstanding, and that may have a lot to do with Cambridge not posing a threat for most of the 90 mins. Thankfully the next four games are against sides that want to play football, interesting to see how Northampton fair with Terry Taylor sitting in the stands, and I'm hoping that Golfie's prediction about Blackpool making a late charge bears fruit, they would have to get something away to Stevenage and then at home to Wrexham on Bank holiday, if that were the case. If we did the business against Northampton and Wycombe, then Charlton's visit to Wrexham would take on even more significance. Whatever happens, it's been the best season since Lee Bowyers promotion via the play offs and even if we were to cash in one our stars, then what is coming through gives me hope that we can keep progressing, I've got my season ticket for next year on that basis and looking to cheer the lads on for the final part of this one.

I’ll certainly miss this trip (albeit not the quality of the football) next season, given the 52 minute train journey from London and pubs of the calibre of the Kingston Arms, The Haymakers, Calverley’s Brewery and The Devonshire Arms.

Agreed, a great away day. The smaller grounds and football might be nothing special, but in L1 and L2 are some quite nice places to visit, whether for sightseeing or pubs.

It was great to be able to say while walking to the ground, I can see the floodlights.
  • A very scrappy game that players hate, especially midfielders, balls flying above you from one end to the other,no chance to bring the ball down and be creative,it got a bit better when Anderson came on . No words to explain Aneke, he even walks slow, can't run.
  • On the note of Chuks, how shit must Jones think Gassan is that not only Chuks get in ahead of him, but a completely unproven Mbick.

Chuks is beyond lazy now, it's actually a bit of a liberty at this point. I'd rather Mbick be on the pitch ahead of him, Chuks has lost everything about him that made him as impactful as he was, and with this run of games being so important there should be no room for sentiment.
100% agree on this. It’s actually sad to witness Chucks on the pitch now. Ahadme well the less said the better other than whoever sanctioned that signing I hope is not at the club anymore
  • Can’t believe a small club with relegation written all over them didn’t try and play a nice game of football with us , lay down and die tamely for us , the pure cheek of trying to play on the edge and rough up our best player , well I never , who’da thought it .
My scum Tourette’s kicked in as soon as Harris was on the screen …..
Solid enough performance and the play offs as good as guaranteed , a while back I predicted play off final failure and I’m sticking with that .
    3 play off final wins
3 play off semi final losses
we got 3 play off Final losses coming up to square it all up .

TC our only real attacking threat apart from the footballing nous of Godden , thankfully the defence held strong but the real tests are to come .

Miraculous turnaround by us can we please complete the miracle .

scum knocking on Champ play off door , palace confirmed in prem , please can we stop being so far behind our rivals , please please please .
Make you right oohaah, in fairness to Harris, he probably took one look at that collective pile of shit and thought, 'where do I start ?' So he taught them how to kick things, Ball, players, buckets whatever !

I'm not sure you can accuse him of being "lazy" as such. But he's definitely immobile and a shadow of his former self these days. Maybe that's him playing within himself a bit, for fear of something else going ping. But not lazy.
If you're coming on as a late sub as a striker, and you aren't closing down every loose chance or ball when your team are 1 up, you're either lazy, or not fit for purpose. Either way, he's not someone I'm happy seeing come on.

He literally passed the ball off the pitch for a throw in yesterday under next to no pressure, and let a ball go straight by him all because it looked like he couldn't be bothered. Cause I sure as shit know he ain't daft.

I'm sorry but it's taking the piss. 8 grand a week or whatever it is, should warrant far more. Hopefully after this season it's the last we see of players soaking up wages and having little impact on our team.
  • Busy yesterday so delighted to discover we won away. I think those 3 points have sealed a top 6 finish unless we implode completely in our last 4 matches. Conversely hopes of automatic promotion have disappeared I believe.

If he didn't have a role to play, Jones wouldn't pick him or play him. Of course there are elements to his game that are negative but there are also positives. Have a bit more faith in the manager.
No manager in the entirety of English football has a team they're completely happy with. There will always be players they'll know deep down aren't ready or good enough.

Sometimes you have to play with the hand you are dealt.

Frankly I find it ridiculous you've felt the need to say to me to have a bit more faith in the manager when I've said nothing bad about him.

It's a post match thread discussion and my focus is on a player who when he comes on, it feels like we have 10 men, that's it.

If Godden was 5 years younger, and Tyreece wasn't carrying a bit of a knock, Chuks wouldn't even be coming on in his current form.
  • Heading into the play-offs, I'd much rather Chuks than Josh Parker.
That's like saying you'd rather death by chainsaw rather than a bullet to the head. Would rather swerve both.

Anyway, each to their own, I can't stand when he comes on the pitch now, hopefully I'm eating my words by the end of the season.
