Psople generally resign from boards because of strategic disagreement, they wait to be sacked frpm their job0

I used to come on here a lot and way back when in the early days even posted a little. Now - having come back after a few years (personal life changes) - I am really not enjoying it much. With a few exceptions the discussions are all doom and gloom and rumours (negative and often frankly ridiculous). I love my club and of course I care about how it's being run but ffs - last season was brilliant and we've signed up our best players and SCP is very much at the helm. I'll be there next Wednesday cleaning seats and at Crawley and Orient and in my season ticket seat cheering the boys this season and I can't bloody wait. In the meantime...I'm off back to Twitter and fb relying on @cafcofficial to tell me what I need to know.0

So the statement seems to say that SK will be in for work tomorrow, and next week and so on, hmmmn. I will wait and see on that, but at the moment it doesn't seem at all credible to me.0

It's a shame you've decided to go.salsa said:I used to come on here a lot and way back when in the early days even posted a little. Why not try starting a few discussions yourself along the lines of what you'd rather talk about?0 -
I think I'm gonna cry

Am I the only one to think he isn't silly and is hardly likely to resign his salaried post before finding something else, no matter what the circumstances?0

As I said above there are more questions than answers.seth plum said:So the statement seems to say that SK will be in for work tomorrow, and next week and so on, hmmmn. I will wait and see on that, but at the moment it doesn't seem at all credible to me.
However I think it can be said with reasonable certainty that he will be around until Mr Prothero has his feet properly under the desk.
After that your guess is as good as mine but I don't see him resigning the job, unless it is financially beneficial, and who can blame him?0 -
Didn't we employ a PR specialist last year? If he's still there it'd probably be a good time to release something with a positive spin on things?0

The OS statement seems to indicate that SK is in his job for ever, or until Mr Protheroe suggests changes at executive level, so no notice period at all then.LargeAddick said:in the job until he has served his notice period imo
If Mr Protheroe suggests changes, then presumably the owners will proceed with due process.
None of the above applies if SK has 'adjusted' his position under other circumstances.
So at mid day we get the idea that SK has gone, then after a lot of panic (and time to think up a statement) late afternoon we hear that it is simply his directorship he has gone from. Why that? Why now? Due process? The normal procedure of business life?
Hmmmmn0 -

It wasn't some Wolves fan was it? :-)salsa said:

We normally get one melt down a week when there's no football to talk about, this week we've had a bonus 2 rollover meltdowns happen , what lies in store next I wonder?0

Perhaps the board think that SK doesn't have the necessary skills to drive the club forward? Just a thought...0

No -sounds like a management team that want their people in the right places - they want to call the shots - my only fear is not the players or finances - I reckon there is money there and available - I still reckon the ground is the worryellisaddick said:

Chief executive leaves Charlton board
Posted on: Thu 26 Jul 2012
Matt Wright reports
Stephen Kavanagh has resigned from the Charlton board of directors, the club announced on Thursday, although he remains employed by the club as chief executive.
Charlton chairman Michael Slater added: "Steve has simply tendered his resignation as a member of the board of directors - he was not asked to resign - and his resignation has been accepted by the other board members.
"The intention now is to allow incoming executive vice-chairman Martin Prothero time to analyse the management structure at the club before making recommendations as to the executive and senior management team going forward."

I can't help but agree with these sentiments. Even the most reliable posters seem to be drawn into missleadng speculation based on the most spurious information. Bring on the start of season so we can focus on what's happening on the pitch.salsa said:I used to come on here a lot and way back when in the early days even posted a little. Pointless posting that comment then really. Not having a dig & getting nasty like some people do on here but posting that you know something but are not going to share it on the forum is pointless mate & not helpful to anyonesammy391 said:if what i have been told it true , SK has left for reasons that are imho are quite pathetic ... nothing to do with football ( cant say as i have agreed not to share the information)

Why do the club make a press release each time after it has been topic of the day on here?
Also why wasn't SK removed from the board at the same time as PV? It would be interesting to see when his name comes off at company house.0 -
i completely understand , but i posted it to share the fact that i have been told he has resigned for the way he has been recently 'trusted' or 'respected' not because the club is being run ( could be a small factor though)Chrissy\\\'s Army!! said:sammy391 said:if what i have been told it true , SK has left for reasons that are imho are quite pathetic ... nothing to do with football ( cant say as i have agreed not to share the information)

They are buying Lidl own brand tea-bags instead of Twinings? Can AB confirm this?
