Olympics - your favourite medal winner of 2012

Has anyone got a favourite so far?

Have loved the post race interviews with so many fine British athletes.

Despite being exhausted, they seem erudite, honest and are at pains to make their thank you's to the people who have supported them and cheered them on.

Quite a few have caused the boys here at Montana towers to shed a tear of happiness, as have the moments of joy and relief as the national anthem is played.

So far Sophie Hosking and Katherine Copeland stand out

along with Rebecca Adlington. Hunter and Zac Purchase also had us in tears, as did Alan Cambell

    Katherine Grainger for me. The fact she had silver medals from 3 previous Olympics & finally got that Gold medal at her 4th ( & possibly last) Olympics must have meant so much!!

    Mo Farah for me! When I read his background and route to glory, I felt overwhelmed. As a teacher myself, I hope I can one day influence someone to achieve greatness in the face of adversity like Mo's PE teacher did!

    Grainger for me, although Sanchez at the medal ceremony also showed exactly what this means to the athletes.

    Mo Farrah - watching him overtake on that last lap and drive to the finish line cheered on by 80,000 people was brilliant.

    Weird one this, but the young man from Grenada, first non-American to ever run the 400m in under 44 seconds, for their first medal of any description

    Young Laura Trott is an absolute delight.....she's on cloud nine and honestly cannot believe what's happening right now....she's a funny little thing too and so bubbly.....like the schoolgirl she almost is.
    She seems to be on the verge of tears and laughter all at the same time and can't make up her mind quite which to do........almost ready to explode with emotion and practically gasping for breath in her interviews and media appearances.
    Such a pleasure to see someone so happy.

    All great, id like to say someone from the athletics like ennis or mo. Laura Trott was brilliant too.

    My personal stand out winner is Andy Murray. The way he won and who he beat underlines that.

    Every single one of them. All fantastic achievements.

    That Laura Trott was on TV this morning and seems like a really lovely girl but Mo Farah seems like a genuinely awesome bloke and always looks so happy

    The three girl cyclists. Love the camaraderie between them. Laura Trott is a bundle of energy and a delight to listen to. Also think Jo Rowsell is pretty damn good too. Puts Wayne "vain" Rooney to shame. She has alopecia but has the guts to deal with it.
    But most of them have made me shed a tear or two. So proud!!

    Did you see this wonderful photo of her with Bradley Wiggins taken about 8 years ago? Apprantly he was her inspiration

    the interview with Laura last night was amazing, especially the bit where she can tell if she's trained hard enough by the latic acid build up, and how it tastes like blood in her mouth. Amazing girl, and a great story of how she overcame a lot of problems in her childhood with illness.

    Plus she is really cute.

    OK, I've got a new one, having seen Nicola Adams win through to the final. (and I cannot stand the concept of women's boxing!)
    What a lovely bubbly lady, speaking with positive enthusiasm - what a role model!

    Has to be Andy Murray - simply because his wining something pissed off so many people. Then he sang GSTQ at the medal ceremony and pissed them off even more.

    I just love Wiggins, he's my hero at the moment along with all of the other team GB competitors.

    For excitement, Mo's last lap or Chris Hoy in the Kierin yesterday.

    For admiration, Brownlee yesterday, Wiggins for his domination.

    For favourite winner, Jess all day long. She's had that meddle round her neck for the last four years, yet took a massive knock in the Worlds last year. TO come out even stronger and post a new PB, shows the grit and determination she has, particularly when you see how slight and fragile she appears next to her competitors.

    The time that Jess Ennis ran in the 100m hurdles would have put her into the final of that event as well.

    I've enjoyed all the gold medals each has meant so much to the individual and even the silvers and bronzes have meant something too. It's unfair to say which is best because they have all been special and on the way have generated some great memories with a bit of heartache thrown in for good measure for those like Hunter and Purchase who came so close and tried so hard that he literally couldn't have given anything more.

    Totally agree BFR, and 'best' is impossible - hence 'favourite' - and our choices change daily!

    tough... a few made me go woohoooo! Chris Hoy, Pendleton, Ennis, Farrah... and Trott yesterday because it was against the odds, her opponent needed to be fourth... but for me Ben Ainslie typified everything that is good about the olympics.

    Jason Kenny for me. Just fitted in seamlessly where Hoy left the job. Bodes so well for the next generation.

    Favourite moment was Gemma Gibbons semi final win in the judo. Favourite gold was Mogadishu Mo's in the 10k. You could literally feel the crowds noise carry him to victory.
