    I used to sit/stand at the back of E block.Ginger was down the Anchor not so long ago with his son and Ginger Ben has gone over to the dark side with Scooby.....Great thread :)




    As did i.

    Remember going to Luton away, probably mid 90's and meeting Ginger Ben in the pub before the match, after about an hour in there he started offering out all the other Charlton fans, including us.

    Ginger Ben was nuts but a good laugh. Who remembers Pardrew saw him at LB after the palace game. He used to love getting on the pitch he did.

    Remember the Grimsby game we couldnt sit at the back of the coach because the big boys were on it. They had to share there beers out so there was none left on board when we arrived. One pissed in a bottle and as we were getting off to rob the services he asked me to hold the bottle for him. It scarred me for life.lol
    I told him this story years later and he cracked up he also hit a grimsby fan on the way out of the game. Great days.
    Im sure NSS was on that coach that day too.

    The looting of service stations by football fans mustve been so rife half the tine you got in there the shelves and fridges were ruined and empty

    The pick and mix only ended up with toffees and choc raisins left and the poor doris behind the counter totally given up on challenging

    Fog swerves brother in law got nicked that day
    Poor old Marlene (Steve E) got taken to court for swearing at a copper on the train home. The bloke up before them had clumped his bird and was basically let off by the judge, they thought they had a lenient one and would get off but he gave it the 'football fans are scum' speech and fined the poor sods!

    They were holding him at paddington nick the top security one
    a few others got nicked as well
    Think there was a group of 3 or 4 who used to go back then
    like me one of them got nicked and a couple of them waited at paddington nick
    see one of them now and again palace away last time but never knew there names

    They put a copper in our carriage at Bristol to ride all the way back with us. At one point he gave a general warning about language and Steve then stood up and said 'c***' repeatedly about 4,000 times and then got picked up as we got off the train. Mark got nicked at the barriers, and Taz then tried to take a swing at the copper and also got done. Not too many seemed to make it back that day.

    That was also the day Fog Horn tried to start off 'we're by far the greatest team' in the pub and his voice broke on far and it came out a squeek !
