Ignoring of course the significant spend in signing contracts with Harriott, Dervite, Cort, Hughes and Gower.....LargeAddick said:spent more than us so far this close season. 13k on a player from Dover, leaves 87k in the transfer kitty.

Don't let reality get in the way of Large's permanent downer.Rob62 said:

I doubt if Cort and Hughes have got better terms than before or a signing-on fee, because of their ages, so they are not going to be adding to the budget.Rob62 said:

In fairness when you're almost perpetually negative it's difficult to expect everyone to realise when you're jokingLargeAddick said:

We know the budget has been reduced. I'm not talking about adding to the budget, but it is still spend. It is commiting moneyAirman Brown said:

It's also a choice against signing other, more expensive players. But in the end whichever you do you still need a squad. I'm not expressing a view about these players, because i think they are both good people to have around, but personally I can't see giving new contracts to current pros at the end of their career as "significant spend" and I doubt if Dervite fits that description either.Rob62 said:

Significant in comparison to a 13k spend
I'm trying to be positive! 0 -
Brown has now re-signed former Fleet favourite (and Charlton academy player) Stacy Long! Absolutely delighted.0
-
Brilliant news re stacy long. Think his dad is a fleet fan as well.0

Brownie was on radio London yesterday and sounded good, as always. Praised Chris Powell for his achievements in getting us promoted and then up to 9th without spending money.0

Just looked up Mark DeBolla, he used to score some great goals for Gravesend. Didn't realise he's been without a club for 5 years.
I've only been to a few 'Fleet matches, but one of the funniest things I've seen at football was at a fixture against Dartford. There was some mouthing off behind the goal and some guy took a running charge from 25 yards and floored someone like the proverbial sack of potatoes, he just plunged beneath the ad boards.0
