If only we had had a sh*t team that year, then I may not have followed in my dad's footsteps and supported Charlton but would have supported Spurs instead (as most of my schoolmates did). How things would have been different.
Mind you, I've never really regretted it! (Well, only occasionally!)

No worries Bell was 20 years old so not quite established. Paine of Saints was in the squad as was Greavsie who Sir Alf left out in favour of the two bigger target men Hurst and Hunt.0

Agree on Lawler right back 1964/65 however he only played 6 games 1963/64 so I reckon the two full backs would have been Gerry Byrne and Ronnie Moran.0

I can't even remember what I had for breakfast!0

He was left back, I thought, but maybe he was right back and someone else played left back. I may have to get in the loft tonight to find the programme.RedChaser said:Was the Liverpool right back Gerry Byrne?

Come to think of it I enjoyed a glass of apple and barley grass juice, a Berocca tab, an l-arginine pill, a 5-htp pill and two Golden Virginia roll ups!
