You're correct but when I was paying on the day at such places as Burnley, Donny etc I didn't imagine we'd have an away game this season with such demand! I mean it's not like we expect to see us in the Quarters finals every year is it! I may have a season ticket holder friend of a friend who can sort me now, hopefully anyway I cannot miss this.Henry Irving said:
This is going to sound harsh but you know the criteria for tickets. It has been the same for years. If you go to most homes and most aways then why not buy them via the ticket office so it is on the record or at least keep the stubs for instances like this.BR7_addick said:
My suggestion, not allowing season ticket holders who've not been away this season 4 tickets! 2 is fair enough.Addickforlife said:
Can I please ask for your suggestion that the club can use for a fairer way?BR7_addick said:Wouldn't let me buy any tickets today. Please bare in mind I've been to Oxford, Doncaster, Burnley to name a few this season. Quite annoyed actually, I paid cash for a lot of them on the day so no record I'll be pissed off if I don't get one.
It's impossible to please everyone. Especially if our ticket office have no record of what you've done.
I understand this but lets be honest how many away fans pay on the day and don't keep away ticket stubs? Quite a few of us. I even went Sheff Wed when it was called off!
The ticket office has no way of knowing what you say is true otherwise.
Do you still have the match tickets? A guy on here earlier said he scanned in the ticket stubs and the club accepted that as proof of his away games
And Sordell, but we will gloss over that bit, don't want to have any hard feelings towards them.0 -
Thank you @lewyaddick much appreciated m8 see you up there0

FFS Millwall needs sorting. Man up, you lot!2
-
That's good, means lots of non season ticketers will get tickets0
-
OK, got mine.
VERY helpful staff.
I bought a season ticket and then they let me buy some Sheffield tickets - she had to go and check that that was ok .
All extra money for the club, which i dont begrudge at all.
Well done to the staff - they couldnt have been more helpful.
So happy now !6 -
Wont be many, they are selling tomorrow as well before they go on general sale Monday0 - Sponsored links:

I know it's a cup QF, and we've had it before. However for a straight up, match is on, sell the tickets, no frills kind of situation I didn't expect this. To mix in the early kick off, and the long round trip, it is impressive.
It was easy to sell out Fulham obviously, but if nothing else the sales on the first two days indicates something of the depth of our support which any powers that be ought to recognise.
Last week we had more people watching the Youth Cup at Stonebridge Road that everybody bar Luton and Kidderminster in the Conference matches the following day. The devotion is out there, waiting to be tapped into. I know relegation this season would be a disaster in many ways, but if it means winning more, promoting the youngsters, having a cause...one aim...then the support is out there to tap into.
Brilliant effort so far chaps, not bad for a tin pot (© Sheffield Wednesday fans opinion) club is it?6 -
I reckon there has been a lot of buying for bandwagon family/friends/plastics. As a result expect a busy spares thread on here next week if they don't shift the tickets. Hope every deserving fan gets a ticket when they go on general sale.2
-
For all the people moaning can't get tickets yet and saying the problem is people are buying up loads for non charlton fans. It's also the case that people are today buying lots of tickets for charlton fans. I bought five today and they were all for season ticket holders.
Don't just presume that tickets are going to non deserving people when in fact we should all be congratulating our fans for selling so many tickets in two days.7 -
To be honest I don't understand how there can be that many genuine loyal fans that don't have a season ticket. This is not a dig as I don't care how people pay for their tickets but I can't understand how anyone would set out to go very regularly and not buy a season ticket.
Before I get attacked, I understand that not all students keep a season ticket when they are away and I understand that some can't afford to go to every game so they don't go to all the home games, but I don't see how there can be that many when our average game is only a couple of thousand more than the number of season ticket holders.
Thus there shouldn't be many that would have a genuine gripe if they don't get a ticket that couldn't get one until Monday.0 -
TBH, if people are prepared to travel to Sheffield for a 12 o'clock Sunday kick-off, then you would expect some sort of Charlton connection. This has happened before, Fulham a couple of seasons ago, Man U a few years before that, and Ipswich before that , to name a few, so the fanbase is there - i dont have a problem with it all.
TBH , i think that SHeff U might be a bit shocked by the size and volume of the support that will be there - and this will give us a huge advantage.
Cant wait.2 -
I agree with stoneroses. Much less likely to be plastics, much more likely to be Charlton fans. I bought three today, all proper Charlton.3

I'm going to argue against myself here as a season ticket holder. Any fan who has been to all four cup games thus far irrespective of whether they are VIP, Valley Gold, Presidents club or whatever should have had first dibs for cheering the team on in the last three rounds. The major flaw in this is that it was cash on the gate at Udders although some of us would have had a Valley Away coach ticket to prove that we went. I've got my ticket by the way rant over.1
-
Most are buying for other season ticket holders who are also friends & family because believe it or not people like to sit together. The club could however publish how many higher priced tickets it sold and that would tell us!0
-
I agree, an away match at Arsenal or Chelsea would bring out a lot of fair weather supporters, but Sheffield United is hardly in the same category.The_President said:TBH, if people are prepared to travel to Sheffield for a 12 o'clock Sunday kick-off, then you would expect some sort of Charlton connection. Do you honestly think anyone will pay attention to seat numbers? From my experience at away games, people just rock up and grab a seat anywhere they can/want.barstool said:Most are buying for other season ticket holders who are also friends & family because believe it or not people like to sit together. As for the driving route, I personally would avoid the M1 like the plague (always some hold up going on there, whatever day or time it is). I quite regulary drive to Durham and always use the A1, which is much better these days since they've widened many parts and removed those stupid roundabouts outside Nottingham.............0 -
The upper has now sold out according to the Commercial centre0
