  • Just got mine! Reckon I will have the shortest journey. 5 miles from South Sheffield. Two "home" games in a few days! Can't wait!
  • Don't think you are the closest Benno. Maybe in the top 10 though
  • I just have to say that Clem Snide is my new best friend and not for the first time offer my thanks to CL which facilitated it. If AFKA and co are reading this, take a bow. Onwards and upwards. Now to work out if a decent pub will be open early.

Excellent. I understand The Weatherspoons pubs will be open if you see the Sheffield pub/drinking threads.
  • Only genuine and loyal fans have a season ticket. Not sure how old Kings Hill Addick is, but I'm guessing younger rather than older. I'm 56 started going when I was about 5, was at the Arsenal cup game in 68, was with the boys through all the good times in the 70,s and have the experience and police record to prove it, went to Palace when we moved, went to West ham when we moved, was on the valley party campaign, was at the valley clear up, had a season ticket from then until a couple of years back. Now, I'm more casual red card pay per game fan. However, my past means nothing I am not either a loyal or genuine fan ! Surprised they let me in !

Oh an lets not forget £1000 worth of shares I bought that were cancelled !
An the £1 I put in the bucket buy Ronnie Moore

    Etc etc !

An yes you have wound me up !

But unless I got a season ticket, I'm not proper Charlton !

    But I never said that.

The club has a criteria that allows for decisions to me made to distribute a limited number of tickets to, potentially, a higher demand for them.

My suggestion was that anyone that doesn't have a season ticket, four stubs from away games and doesn't subscribe to Valley Gold can't have a gripe when those that do get first option on the limited number of tickets.

I am 43, have been going regularly since the early 80s, have had a season ticket since 1988, including full price for the four years I was away at university, I went to Selhurst and Upton Parks, I was at the Steve Gritt testimonial with about 700 other fans so I don't fail to recognise the difference between being a genuine fan and a season ticket holder.

However, the club has to make a decision on who gets tickets and for those that don't put money into the clubs coffers (Valley Gold) or go to as many games (home or away) I don't believe they can claim to have first dibs on tickets.

I have no complaints when I can't get a ticket even though there were about 2,000 season ticket holders when I started buying one, as I don't go to many away games.
  • Still not quite sure why if it doesn't make sense for you to have a ST, why you don't just join Valley Gold, so you can be sure of getting a ticket in circumstances such as these.

It's £120 a year - Arsenal wanted that for a single match ticket against Bayern.

This doesn't add up amigo, you say you've witnessed so many Charlton eras and yet you call yourself Ralph Milne. Ralph Bloody Milne ?? I'm sorry I don't believe you... :-)
  • What Police record have you got Ralph? Outlandos D'amor, Reggatta de Blanc? Or is it Zenyatta Mondatta?

My closest game of the season being a student in Sheffield this year couldn't have panned out any better. Only 2.4 miles from Bramall lane , cannot wait.
  • Got mine today.

  • How many sold by end of today?
  • How many tickets can you buy over the phone per person on Monday when they go on general sale?

4.6 miles for me. Hillsborough was 4.0 miles, but i'm not complaining about having to go the extra mile, even though it's a Sunday. Well, 0.6 miles actually ;)

Joking aside, i respect everyone who is making the trip from further away and hope all those that want to go get a ticket.

Ticket office is open 9am-8pm Monday- Thursday next week. 0871 226 1905. No online purchases for Sheff U, only in person or phone. There is no limit stated on the O/S.

  • Still undecided on this one. March is an expensive month for me and already done Wednesday and doing Millwall.

Wont decide until some point next weekend but If i do decide to go then I think i'll still get a ticket, I'm in no rush.

If you say it quickly enough it doesn't sound like a lot, but to some of us that's a big old chunk of money.

I'm drunk but even if we lose, borrow, lend and work your way there, it could be more than a decade before another quarter final. My dad is 55, got me into Charlton and he's never seen us reach a semi final. To be there and to see us do that would live with you the rest of your life.
  • Really looking forward to the game, will be a great atmosphere with the amount of fans we taking, lets really get behind the team and hopefully we do the business.
  • Anyone know how many are left?
  • 4421 were sold by 4 yesterday so there are still a fair few left

    Kings Hill said,

To be honest I don't understand how there can be that many genuine loyal fans that don't have a season ticket. This is not a dig as I don't care how people pay for their tickets but I can't understand how anyone would set out to go very regularly and not buy a season ticket.

This was the comment I was responding to, which is not what you later claim to have said. Anyway, not on here for a row, I have a ticket, but do not like being told, I'm not genuine as do not have a ST.

As for Spanish, don,t give a fuck what you believe. Convincing a keyboard warrior of my credentials is not high on my agenda.
  • Sorry, I didn't explain myself properly. The comment you picked up on should have said I can't believe that there are many fans that go to most of the home games that don't have a season ticket. My definition of a genuine fan was one that goes to games. I'm not suggesting that one can't be a fan if they don't go, but that was what I meant.

I do believe, however, that those that don't go to games games now, irrespective as to what happened in the past, should be behind those that do when it comes to tickets for prestigious games.

Keyboard warrior ?? hardly, a joke, but I guess the irony was lost on you !! I'm not a season ticket holder either, hermano mio, but i've been to enough away games this season to qualify. You can't just pick and choose to go to the games you want, even if you are called Ralph Milne !

KHA We have loads of genuine fans that don't go to games, those overseas, and students away are two examples.

  • Spanish if you look closely enough he's not actually called Ralph Milne.

Right I'm off as a gasket will be blown at that one. Even tho it is meant in a light hearted leg pull.

So, with a full house at the Valley there are 25,000 'Charlton fans' and 12,000 of those are ST holders. With your definition that would mean that at any one time there would only be 13,000 'genuine Charlton fans'.

Hmmm I would hazard a guess and say our fan base is a tad bigger than that!

Muggy comment. You want to get your head out your arse and realise when you're having your leg pulled "Raplh"!
